| Doorstop01-27-06, 03:25 PM | Just a quick check: does the concealment offered by the warlock's miasmic cloud invocation stop a spellcaster from targeting you with certain spells or something. Checked through the PHB and I couldn't find anything specific  |
| tarkin01-27-06, 03:49 PM | I believe it is just regular concealment, with offers the standard chance of missing but only for spells with a BAB. Any spell that does not require a to hit roll, such as Magic Missile, Hold Person, or fireball, will continue to work as normal. |
| spectralphoenix01-27-06, 03:50 PM | A targeted spell, such as Magic Missile, requires you to be able to "see or touch" the target (PHB 175.) Anything less than total concealment still allows you to see the target, so you may target them with no miss chance. A totally concealed opponent cannot be targeted. For ray or touch attack spells, such as Scorching Ray, you may target an opponents square even if you can't see them. Miss chances will apply, however. An AoE spell, such as Fireball, effects everyone in the area whether you see them or not. |
| MrkGrismer01-27-06, 03:59 PM | Concealment only affects ranged attacks, which would include ranged touch attacks and rays, basically if there is a non-melee 'to-hit' roll involved. |
| Puca01-27-06, 04:30 PM | I dont think thats exactly the case: When making a melee attack against an adjacent target, your target has concealment if his space is entirely within an effect that grants concealment. When making a melee attack against a target that isn’t adjacent to you use the rules for determining concealment from ranged attacks. |

| MrkGrismer01-27-06, 04:54 PM | My fault, so it would apply to touch spells also. But not to targeted or area spells. |
