With some of the people I play with, some confusion has come up over Confusion the spell (What a surprise.) It comes up because of a small conflict on how a character should act because of this spell when a certain effect is rolled.

A confused character who can’t carry out the indicated action does nothing but babble incoherently. Attackers are not at any special advantage when attacking a confused character. Any confused character who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes. Note that a confused character will not make attacks of opportunity against any creature that it is not already devoted to attacking (either because of its most recent action or because it has just been attacked).

I've bolded the part that is causing the disagreement. When a character rolls an 11-20 on the d% roll (Act Normal), does the bolded text still apply to them since they are still confused?

You stop rolling in general.

If A and B are both confused.
A hits B Due to rolling: B has to attack A back. This makes A have to attack B back. The cycle repeats till either dead or duration ends.

Nephlite, while putting it a bit oddly, is correct.

A character under the effects of a Confusion spell - even if, for that round, they roll an 11-20 and are "acting normally" - is still Confused, and will attack on their next turn anyone who attacks them.
