Leomund's Tiny Hut Leomunds's Secure Shelter and Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion all create dwellings within certain restrictions. My question is this:
Are their any different spells of this nature? I'm looking to make a "portable" workshop for my Artificer/Wiz gestalt. I toyed with the idea of using MMM but it's a fairly high level spell for a 1 fair sized workroom.
My other side of this is:
How do you go about making a spell trigger item to call a "door" to the shop?
I assume you could make an infinite use MMM item, but that's EXPENSIVE.
Thoughts? Views? Cup Cakes?

A Daern's Instant Fortress is your friend here. Either that, or an assload of bags of holding/portable holes or the moving tower. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cw/20070423a)

Have you considered teleporting to something that remains stationary, such as a sealed-off or buried underground ruin? To rephrase, why is it so important that the workshop itself is portable rather than having constant access?

Don't say "so I can access it from alternate planes". I mean like a character reason, a real one. "Because it's awesome" suffices.

There are places that stop teleportation, hence the need for a portable workshop. The bag of holding or portable holse seems like the best fit, since it is actually a portal to a pocket dimension. Reinforce the walls to keep from tearing the bag and just start building inside of the bag. Don't forget to bring an air supply. Done. Though a solution that a wandering monster couldn't walk off with would be better.

Just use a bag of holding or a portable hole for carriying your material arround.

If needed then use Secure shelter if you dont want to have a taller in the middle of nowhere.

Holy crap how could I miss something like that... but what about a spell version?
Duration 1 day/SCL, perhaps spell level 7-9.
Conjuration (Calling, you bargain with Outsiders to construct it quickly)/ Evocation (maybe reduced size and duration?) / Transmutation (requires metal on hand)

Conjuration (Calling, you bargain with Outsiders to construct it quickly)/ Evocation (maybe reduced size and duration?) / Transmutation (requires metal on hand) Ya it is called Mage's/Mord's Magnificent Mansion and it hides much easier.

Folks,

Wall of Stone? It can be shaped provided that the resulting area touches. It could be used to create a crude building. Say four 10'x10' areas forming walls, plus a fifth forming the roof. Leave a few 5'x5' areas missing for windows or doorways.

You could also use repeated castings to make larger buildings or small towers. It atleast makes the start of a building for masons, carpenters, or other spells to work with.

For the contents of the buildings -- doors, furnature, etc. -- you could use fabricate, woodshape, or similiar spells.
