Do spell-effect weapons like Spiritual Weapon, Shelgarn's persistent blade, Mordenkainen's Sword, or Black Blade of Disaster threaten squares or do they just attack the targets that their caster designates? Can they make attacks of opportunity? Seeing as how they don't really have any intelligence, i'd think not, but i haven't seen any real answer in the rules. Anybody have any insight?

AFAIK, they do not threaten squares unless the spells specifically state so in their descriptions. They also cannot take AoOs: they simply attack the indicated target.

To threaten and get an AoO it must be a regular Melee Weapon, controlled directly by your hands, using your normal BAB, or expressly state it threatens.

Any weapon that acts like that, would qualify. The ones you mentioned do not.

What about dancing weapons or weapons animated via the Master of the Unseen Hand's Telekenesis ability?

They still don't threaten, they just attack (unless the MotUH's ability specifically states otherwise; I'm away from my books). In the latter case, you can't make an AoO with a spell, which is basically what you'd be doing with Telekinesis.
