| God of Slivers03-11-05, 03:49 PM | I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but I would like to make sure everything I have planned is nice and legal. So here's the question: can a contingent spell be triggered by command word? For example, I have a contingent teleport set for my home. Can I set it to trigger when I say "So long suckers?" Can I add multiple conditions to it? So using my previous example, could I add "or when my hp reaches 10 or lower?" That way I could 'manually' trigger it or wait for my hp to drop. |

I would rule that "whenever I say, 'so long suckers!'" is an acceptable contingency condition. It's simple and to the point. Of course, you wouldn't be able to fire it off inside of a silence spell. An enterprising attacker who knows this might well seal your doom. I would allow you to specify multiple simple conditions for the same contingency, so your example of "whenever I say 'so long suckers!' or when my hit points drop to 10 or below" is an acceptable condition as well. |
