| aros02-04-04, 06:26 PM | how would one price a wonderous item that made a certain spell active at will? say invisibility? or stoneskin? or.... |
| Seeker9502-04-04, 10:29 PM | 1. Determine the Spell Level 2. Determine the minimum Caster Level 3. Turn to page 285 in your 3.5 DMG. 4. Do the math. |
| tarkin02-05-04, 12:06 AM | Depends on a lot of things. If you can't find any other method of pricing then you start by using caster level x spell level x 2000 as a BASE price and make adjustments thereafter. Never use this for a skill adjuster, save adjuster, armor class, any armor or weapon enchantment. |
| Kaston02-05-04, 12:09 AM | Don't forget the oft-missed footnote to the pricing table about multipliers to cost based on spell duration! It's an important one. |
| True Balance02-05-04, 02:38 AM | continued from seekers list...... 5. look at the cost of items that do similar things if available. 6. just because the math tells you it costs X amount does not mean a DM must allow anything obviously game-breaking. remember it is an "estimation" mechanic of the game and not a "calculation" mechanic of the game. |
