| Sarlax10-09-05, 01:49 PM | The Arms & Equipment Guide features the Rod of Construct Control. 68,850 GP. No save for constructs without intelligence, intelligent ones do save. If successful, you can "override any command that the construct might have and replace them with new commands as if the wielder were the creator of that contruct." Dominate monster is a prerequisite for creation. If the construct is by itself, you can get it to do anything. This rod will basically allow you to control an unlimited number of constructs at will. If the creator is present, however, an opposed Charisma contest is probably in order to determine who is in command. Finally, this should probably not work on Living Constructs, since they are free-willed beings who lack the compulsion the follow the order of their creators. That is, being the "creator of that construct" grants one no power of command. |
| oxybe10-09-05, 05:19 PM | i wasnt planning on using it on warforged, i was planning on using it on other constructs, like the corpse golem :D yeah, once i can get my hands on a rod like that, i can pretty much see myself creating a bunch of 3-4 corpse golems and travelling around with them (and a sutable cage/place for them when im asleep). the earliest a new character can obtain the wand is 12th level, assuming a dm allows the player to use 3/4th of his gold on a single item :P but then again, the player can then begin to create those big guys too at that level... |
