So you can create undead with the animate undead spell, create undead, create greater undead. But how do you control them? What is the limit?

Look at the descriptions of the spells create undead, animate dead, and control undead.
Everything you need is there.

Or you can use the search function for the boards with the words control and undead.
You'll find the answers repeated in four or five posts in the past two months.

The spell animate dead makes undead that are automatically under your control, the spell tells how many.

For create undead and create greater undead, the idea behind it is if your an evil cleric you can take control of the undead through your rebuke/control class ability. If you're an arcane spellcaster, you have no reason whatsoever to cast or know a create undead spell.

Command undead last for days and the text of its description does not mention a limit to the number of undead controlled, although each individual undead needs its own casting.

Control undead, albeit of higher level and far shorter duration than the previous spell, works like a cleric's undead commanding ability in that it allows control of a number of HD/level.

Indefinately.
Or until you let them go or they are destroyed.

For example: you have 10 of them but yu se two more undead you want and you can't turn more under your control. You could let two go to get the new ones. If I was you I'd destroy them first lol.
