can a wizard scry on an oponent then peak over his shoulder (kinds) while he studies his spells for the day and then use the bard spell to enhance his memory so he remember every page perfectly and write it down in his own spellbook?

I'd say no. A spell formula is a bit too complex to be remembered using Modify Memory. A 'passage of text' is far diffrent from a huge block of formula.

Though, by RAW it could be done. You'd just have to make the understand anothers arcane writings check, Modify the Memory, then sit back and study the spell in your memory. Then make your Spellcraft check to understand it. Then, if you do that, you can write it down in your spellbook at the normal cost.

:b: Certainaly I bold idea. I assuming your talking about Modify Memory, which only allow for a perfect recall of 5 minutes. So you could only get bits and pieces of it from each casting. 12 casting for 5 min each to get 1hour. You would also only get what spells the wizard prepared that day.

So I would allow you to copy it, but that does not mean you can automatical perpare spells from it your self. You would still have all the costs for copying a spell from a borrowed spell book. That and still make your check to learn them.

if spying on a higher lvl wiz it is possible then perhaps to get multiple spells per casting since they are studying so many spells quickly and you only need a quick peak when you have perfect memory?

Very fun and interesting idea. I don't know how it should be interpreted per the letter of the rules, but if I were DMing I think I'd probably let someone "steal" one spell per casting of Modify Memory by doing this. You'd of course still have to pay the normal costs for scribing it into your spellbook, but wouldn't have to pay the cost of buying a scroll of it to use for that purpose. You'd also still have to make the relevant skill checks to comprehend the spell and successfully copy it into your spellbook.

It would also be a potentially dangerous and difficult thing to do, as scrying now has a Will save, so it might not even work, and a particularly perceptive individual might notice that they are being scried upon and want to "punish" the person who's invading their privacy/stealing from them.
