03-14-05, 03:50 PM Hi. Can anyone tell me what would the potential cost be of a medium sized Ostrich Feather Coat that had the effects of a Ring of Protection (+1), a Ring of Warmth, and a Ring of Feather Falling?

What if I added immunity to the Tasha's Hideous Laughter spell to the medium sized Ostrich Feather Coat along with all the above? How much would it cost then? Any help would be appreciated!

03-14-05, 04:25 PM You take the highest priced effect at the normal price, then each thing after that is 50% more expensive. If anything doesn't fit the slot affinity, then it is 50% more expensive (if both 50% stack together, the price is doubled).

So, I don't quite recall the ring of warmth, but assuming it is 2,000 gp (I think that's about right, and assuming we let all these fall under the "protection" affinity of the cloak (I think they do)...

2,2000 + 2000 * 1.5 + 2000 * 1.5 = 2,200 + 3,000 + 3,000 = 8,200 (the feather fall is the most expensive aspect, just barely).

Now immunity to one particular spell is a bit more tricky. That's probably about 3000 gp there (twice as much as a brooch of shielding which defends against 101 points of damage from magic missile).

That increase that total cost by 800 (difference between 2,200 and 3,000) plus 2,200 * 1.5...so it's 8,200 + 4,1000 = 12,300.

Of course, consult with your DM for what he thinks.

This DM would not allow the immunity to Hideous Laughter in the cloak.
Want to be imune from that? Get magical earplugs.
(The immunity does not fit the cloak at all.)
