They're only listed for one enhancement, and it is difficult to determine how much such a weapon or armor would cost if the enhancement bonus were increased. What is this board's feeling on that? |
| Seeker9504-02-04, 02:23 PM | Can you give an example? |
| Xeviat-DM04-02-04, 02:30 PM | They're in the DMG ... But okay, I will: Shifter's Sorrow: +1/+1 silver two-bladed sword, with the special ability of forcing shapeshifters to make a will save DC 15 or revert to natural form. A +1/+1 silver two-bladed sword would cost 4,880 gp. Shifter's sorrow costs 6,780 gp, a difference of 1,900 gp. Would a +2/+2 shifter's sorrow simply cost an additional 12,000 more gp? (the difference between a +1 (2,000) and a +2 (8,000) is 6,000, so x2 nets 12,000) Or would one increase the extra 1,900 gp for the special ability? |
| Seeker9504-02-04, 03:05 PM | Ahh... I see. The price difference would be the normal difference between a +2 and a +1 weapon. Do not count the unique ability when computing the upgrade price. It is not a weapon enhancement equivalent feature. |
| Boondoggle04-02-04, 07:53 PM | Originally posted by Seeker95 It is not a weapon enhancement equivalent feature. In your opinion. Upgrading the Sunblade from a base +2 enhancement to something higher could quickly become unbalancing; the weapon will be worth much more than it's market price by your method. In this example, I agree with your opinion, but in general, well, there is no good method. Each instance should be carefully looked at. |
