Suppose you have a Two-Bladed Sword that can essentially turn into a staff too. Assuming it has no other magical components, how much should that cost? What if it can turn into something staff-like that isn't a weapon?

Going from the DMG and RotW examples of similar things, it looks like it is in the range of 1,000-4,000 gp:

Flailing: Upon the command of its possessor, the rod activates, changing from a normal-seeming rod to a +3 dire flail. The dire flail is a double weapon, which means that each of the weapon’s heads can be used to attack. The wielder can gain an extra attack (with the second head) at the cost of making all attacks at a –2 penalty (as if she had the Two-Weapon Fighting feat).
Once per day the wielder can use a free action to cause the rod to grant her a +4 deflection bonus to Armor Class and a +4 resistance bonus on saving throws for 10 minutes. The rod need not be in weapon form to grant this benefit.
Transforming it into a weapon or back into a rod is a move action.
Moderate enchantment; CL 9th; Craft Rod, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, bless; Price 50,000 gp.

+3 Dire Flail costs 90GP + 300GP + 300GP + 18,000GP + 18,000GP = 36690GP
That is the price for both ends to be +3 and masterwork.

Two-Weapon Fighting Feat...estimating the worth at 10k (as per guidelines for such things). That's a total of 46690GP

Then you have the once/day deflection bonus to AC and Resistance Bonus, maybe that's about 2k (though just the deflection is like Shield of Faith, which might be more like 3 or 4k...)? Which I guess would leave the cost for the switching part around 1330gp (or less)

So that example is a little less than some others, but on the other hand it isn't turning into two weapons. (The Bow-Swords in RotW have a bit more money left over).

Anyhow, thoughts on how much a Two-Bladed Sword <-> Rod or a Two-Bladed Sword <-> Staff would cost?

changed the title, and a bump.

I'd like some outside opinions on this, as I was thinking of talking to my DM about a third level character starting with a weapon like this. It stretches the amount he can have in one item a tiny bit (2700gp is the total worth of items I can have and this might cost 2k or a bit more it seems).

The guidelines for feat pricing SUCK.

I do not think TWF is worth 10k. Maybe 5k

Now, something like Draconic Claw, that would be worth 5k.

Ignoring this, I would say that the basic ability to transform a non-weapon into a single weapon from a hidden form is basically worth about 1,500 gp.

But the ability to transform from one weapon form to another is different.

For that I would say it is worth about 5,000 gp, assuming, no power changes. (I.E. one was flaming the other ws frost).

For a power change, I would up the price to 10k.
