| Welcome11-18-04, 06:40 AM | Is there an official ruling about this ? Say I want to have a mage cast Permanency on me ; how much would he be paid for the 1000 xp it's going to cost him ? The closest thing I've seen regarding this is that when creating a magic item, XP cost is 1/25th of the market price. Could we then say that the gp price of xp is 25-fold ? Or is is just up to the DM ? |

| Kratilim Valqui11-18-04, 08:33 AM | In my campaign I let the Chacters pay the XP cost themselfs when they want to do somthing like this... It works fine... they pay for both the spell scroll price and the XP cost. |
| The Simbul11-18-04, 03:05 PM | In addition if the total cost of a spell is more than 3,000gp (i.e. usually due to exceptional component and XP cost), then the spell is not generally available. |
| tarkin11-18-04, 03:17 PM | Seeker gave the official rule. Check the SRD, under equiptment. Officially, spells cost: 10 gp x caster level x spell level Plus any material component cost Plus 5 gp / xp spent. (Caster must spend XP points, he is NOT allowed to vampire suck them out of someone else, even if they are willing). Plus a portion of any Foci required. |
