We will try to run, but of cause that is not very good. We always have to fight the monster, having one character out of six left, and barely alive. He claims he dont wan us to be cowards... but its damn annoying, knowing we gotta spend our treasures resurrecting everyone. Anyway to counter this evil trick of my DM>? |

| Bloodtide_the_Red09-07-04, 11:57 PM | It's not so hard to outsmart this spell. Ok, you can't teleport away..anyway at all. There are still lots of ways to get away. Polymorph-you want to pick something small/fast/or with wings or that can dig or even just jump realy good. Gaseous Form-just float away. Fly-zoom away. Haste-run away fast. All you have to do is get out of the area if it's a Dimensional Lock effect that covers a set area.(unles it covers the whole world). It's always good to have a quickened dispel to get rid of pesky spells like this too, in the case of dimensional anchor. And another good trick, have an ally near by that can swoop in and pick you up and get you out of the area. BT |
| ElvenEnigma09-08-04, 12:15 AM | All of the posts before me have good suggestions, but I've always found a good way to escape is just to make your own exit......via Disintegrate. Wall in your way? Not anymore...Force effect blocking your path? Not anymore. Granted it won't get you out of everything, but it's hella versatile and fun to play with.:D Of course you could also always have a contingency (if you're a wizard) set to where if you are ever affected by a dimensional anchor/lock spell/effect your trigger spell goes off. This trigger spell could be a polymorph, dispel, etc. Invisibility might be interesting too, your foes might believe they cast the wrong spell. Peace |

| Sacrusha09-08-04, 05:52 AM | No teleportation or any sort of interplanar travel such as shadow walk, blink, etherealness or even gate work when cast while inside the zone of a dimensional lock. |
