The epic counterspell FEAT (PGtF pg135) says you can counterspell without readying the action any number of times per round.

Therefore can I use the epic spell called "epic counterspell" DC69 to counter multiple spells and multiple epic spells before my initative using the above mentioned feat?

If you could use Mordenkainens disjunction as a counterspell it would work just as well ... but I don't think u can.

Please comment!!!
I know epic spells cant be quickened or maximised etc. But can they be used with the epic counterspell feat?

The rules don't seem to say anything about using Epic Spells to counterspell. So I don't see why they would be treated any different. Thus, you could certainly use an Epic Spell to counterspell another spellcaster, assuming all the normal rules for counterspelling are being followed. As the rules say, treat Epic Spells as the equivalent of 10th level spells. (Might be of importance if relying on the Improved Counterspell feat.)

Note though, that you are rather limited on how many Epic Spells you can cast each day. Its your ranks in the appropriate knowledge skill divided by 10 (rounded down). So, unless you are pretty high up and have lots of ranks in the right skill, you are only getting so many Epic Spells a day. Even at level 50, you are only getting at most 5 epic spells a day.

As for Disjunction, you could use it in conjunction with Improved Counterspell to counter any abjuration spell of 8th lvl or lower. But you can't use it like Dispell Magic as a general counterspell. Of course, you could just cast it to get rid of any magic effects that come about as a result of spellcasting, but thats not the same as counterspelling.

so the best counterspell is greater dispelling i guess.

it is pretty lame above lvl 20 though since the caster check caps at 1d20+20

How do you counter psionics when they are cast at you.. greater dispel magic or a few epic counterspells seems like all i've got?

Simply create a custom version of dispel magic that has no caster lv cap. :)

There's a couple 9th level spells that dispel and cap at 25. I'd say a sort of "ultimate dispel" could cap at 30, since that would fit the trend.

That seems pretty reasonable. A 9th level Dispell Magic (call it Improved Greater Dispell Magic for instance---yeah lame name). Works just like Greater Dispell but caps at +30. As said it fits in with the trend, an additional +10 to the cap for three spell levels. Above that, you'll probably be stuck on epic spells.

However, by the time you hit lvl 30 a primary caster should be tossing about 10th, 11th, and 12th level spells. If you use Improved Counterspell, the Epic Counterspell feat, and the Epic Heighten Metamagic feat, you'd be in good shape to use those 10th and higher slots to counterspell pretty much anything.
