| AskaniSage03-03-04, 10:43 PM | I have a Counterspelling spell which I wondered about. I think I know the answer but I wondered what the official decision is. I know you can use Dispel Magic as a Counterspell versus anyone other spell but you have to make the Dispel check. I also know that if a foe casts a certain spell, you can cast the same spell to cancel it out. What if you are Counterspelling with Dispel Magic against a foe who is casting Dispel Magic also? Does it just work automatically or do you STILL have to mnake the Dispel Check? Techically by the wording you shouldn't have to make the Dispel check cause it is the same spell. What is the official decision? Thanks for any help anyone can give! |

Dispel Magic counters Dispel Magic exactly the same way Light counters Light, Magic Missile counters Magic Missile, or Charm Person counters Charm Person-- automatically, without a caster level check. |
