2 MOH Newbie questions (tried the FAQ) [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-21-05, 10:20 AM 1. I'm planning on starting a Kalashtar Wilder. Beyond PHB, DMG, MM, and EPH, which books do I actually NEED to play Mark of Heroes? I'm on a tight budget, and I don't want to buy books (casts sideways glance at Races of Eberron) if they don't give me a lot of benefits.

2. Just how fast are these characters supposed to increase in level? The two adventures at Origins are optimized for fourth level characters. Does this mean that if I only get a couple adventures in by Origins, I'm going to be way underpowered? Are they really going to have three level bumps by the end of June?

Green Regent's level bumps haven't been "one level at a time"...if memory serves, they did bumps to 4th, to 7th, to 10th. I have to imagine that MoH will do one level bump (to 4th, from wherever you are now) just before Origins.

(Due to the level bump system, it's next-to-impossible to be underpowered for a mod in these campaigns. The level bumps ensure that all PCs are of the right level.)

04-21-05, 03:40 PM The level bump will be a tad different than the green regent ones. This is probably due to the DM's mark series of adventures. I don't know the specifics but at one time i know that you could be a little under the people who've played in DM's marks and the like but not so drastic that you couldn't play.

I understand that I'll need copies of the kalashtar stuff from the Eberron Campaign Setting, but does Races of Eberron provide something significant to this specific campaign that I can't go without it for a few months?

04-22-05, 09:49 AM At the moment Races of Eberron provides you with absolutely nothing for a couple of months: you can't use it. There are a few campaign cards that unlock specific items from RoE, but none of them apply to Races of Eberron. Until Races of Eberron is officially addressed by the Mark of Heroes campaign you can definitly wait on getting it, it isn't going to help you at all.

You may or may not be one level higher than people who have never played. That is about it.

I avoid any RPGA event that has level bumps, personally.
