| jvoodoochild10-19-05, 09:15 AM | As new books are released do we have to wait until the Campaign Standards are updated to include the book as a secondary source, or can we start placing items on our expansion list when we have the book in hand and can show the DM the info? Thanks in advance, -Joel |

Thanks in advance, -Joel My understanding is that you need to wait for the books ot be okayed for Campaign Standards before taking items on your Expansion list...which is a tad bit odd, since one of the cards in the new Campaign Cards set makes it possible to use Magic of Incarnum material...and this book has not been okayed through Campaign Standards yet...if anyone has other info on this subject, by all means post! - Andy |
| Herrbard10-19-05, 07:42 PM | I believe the newset versio of the Campaign Standards is due in January (Oh, TimRat...). I expect Magic of Incarnum, Magic of Eberron, and Five Nations to all be included. And who knows what else will find its way in there! Edit: fixed it. Yeah, I realized that about a day later, just never came back and fixed it... |
| Arvagor10-22-05, 05:42 PM | Races of Eberron is already an allowed source ... |

I expect Magic of Incarnum, Magic of Eberron, and Five Nations to all be included. And who knows what else will find its way in there! What's funny is that there's a card from the latest set of Mark of Heroes that gives an okay for "non-restricted" Magic of Incarnum rules...but we'll have to wait a few months to find out what those are. Which is a bummer, as one of my players really wants to play an incarnum user. - Andy |
| CrimsonTemplar10-25-05, 03:21 PM | Yeah, it would be nice to get an updated list of Restricted items/spells/feats/classes/etc. It would also be nice to get a ruling on the Weapon Familiar ability of the Warforged Artificer. If they're going to ban it because of the no intelligent items rule in the previous Campaign Standards release, then they should give them back the Craft Haemonculous (sp?) class ability. |
| grahamdrew10-25-05, 03:43 PM | It seems like they'd most likely ban that level of Warforced Artificer rather than making an MoH varient with Craft Homoculous. They don't need to give it back if you never lose it in the first place. Andrew Beard |
| tilloch10-28-05, 10:55 PM | I don't mean to sound like a rube... but what Weapon Familar ability? I just started a Warforged Artificer using the rules in the Campaign Setting. Am I not allowed Craft Homunculus? |
| Frobi-Wan Kenobi10-29-05, 05:23 PM | I don't mean to sound like a rube... but what Weapon Familar ability? I just started a Warforged Artificer using the rules in the Campaign Setting. Am I not allowed Craft Homunculus? No, see the Races of Eberron's Warforged Artificer Racial Sub. Level for the details. |
| tilloch10-30-05, 10:02 PM | So let me get this straight... If I want to play an Artificer who happens to be of the Warforged Race, I have to use the Racial Substitution Level in Races of Eberron when I play in a Mark of Heroes event? I don't own Races of Eberron. Does that mean I can't play this character until I get Races...? Tilloch |
| Frobi-Wan Kenobi10-30-05, 10:44 PM | Am I not allowed Craft Homunculus? No, see the Races of Eberron's Warforged Artificer Racial Sub. Level for the details. You asked if you were not allowed to craft a Homunculus - I answered no. But, I'll expand upon my answer since your phrasing of the question has led to your misunderstanding. If you have a Warforged Artificer and you don't take any of the Racial Sub. levels then you are a normal Artificer - you get Craft Homunculus at 4th level just like everyone else and you're free to build a little metal companion and live happily ever after. If you have the Warforged Artificer Racial Substitution levels then, depending on which ones you take, you could have a Artificer that lacks the ability to create a Homunculus (and if you sub 4th level and don't sub 5th level then you wouldn't have the ability to create a Homunculus or even a Weapon Familiar. |
| TimRat10-31-05, 05:27 PM | The new standards shoudl be coming shortly. i can get the answer to this in the next couple days for sure as well as the DMs mark and all that. |
| grahamdrew10-31-05, 09:36 PM | Honestly TimRat, I apreciate all you're trying to do, and it's nothing personal, but as a resouce you're really starting to lose credibility. I understand you're just forwarding the BS and it's not your fault, but whever it come to release dates you just seem to be wrong more often than not. It's been about a month since you said we were supposed to have Campaign Standards and EMH-5, and we haven't seen anything yet. You said mods were held up in editing or waiting for artwork, but from what I understand from people who ran the same mods at the premire they end up exactly the same, right down to the same stupid typos. At this point I'd rather have no answer than a wrong answer, because as much as I hate scratching my head and wondering, a wrong answer just pisses me off. Like I said, nothing personal, and I'm sure it's not your fault. I (and let me know if nobody else agrees with me) just don't feel like most of the things that you pass along are any more trustworthy than the rumors anyone else hears. Andrew Beard |
