There's been no author recruiting, but there's a dismal numerical release schedule..what gives? I think the theory is that the DM Mark adventures will fill in the gaps. However, that requires someone to write and run (multiple times for different groups) the adventure. I suspect that it won't work as well as hoped because judges won't embrace the DM Mark concept since the level bumps prevent it from syncing up with a home campaign. Ed |

Ed Yea, I can see that in theory, but the issue isn't enough 'tables' it's enough scenarios. Only having 'one' DM's mark and two regular scenarios will hardly be enough for any kind of game day. Without being able to have its own game day, this campaign can never truly take off (IMHO). Thoughts? jh |

Three modules is plenty for a game day, but not a regular monthly game day. If they loosened the rules to allow you to play in 2 DM Mark adventures a month, you theoretically could have a monthly game day with one normal and two DM mark adventures. IME, unless you have a dedicated group of players for a campaign in an area, the modules run as adjunts to LG events, not on their own. The supply of Mark of Heroes modules has been worse than expected. Part of the problem is the new "Extended Premier" rules which prevented people from playing the modules which are out there. But without this factor, I think you'd have many more people complaining about the lack of modules. IMO, you need to play a campaign at least every other month to maintain interest. Campaigns that don't do this lose interest and relevance. Ed |

Mark of Heroes seems to be following the example of Legacy of the Green Regent, rather than Living Greyhawk (not surprising, given that MoH and LotGR are both D&D Campaigns, not Living campaigns). I wouldn't count on there ever being more than a couple of MoH adventures available for play at any one time. So, yeah, it makes it difficult to build a game day solely around MoH. And, IIRC, the module availability for LotGR was spotty at first, too (and has been occasionally spotty since). Yet, acc. to Ian, LotGR has become one of the RPGA's biggest campaigns. |
