I know that it says you can't change your equipment list in game. However, occasionally, some modules, like "Finding the Way," and "No Ticket," give you the option of buying things in game. My question is, if you buy something in game, like a potion, or a ticket, is it reported as gold piece loss? My guess is yes, and I've been reporting it that way, but I wanted to make sure. Let me know. Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, using CoH to purchase items within the game isn't reported as a GP loss. Like your Web EV, CoH regenerates between adventures, so there's no need to report characters' using it.

The only use for the 'GP Lost' field that I'm aware of is for raising/resurrecting characters that have died during the adventure.

What about when they're forced to buy train tickets? To me, that seems like a gold piece loss. Maybe not.

Even though an expenditure of gold during an adventure is a 'loss', characters also technically have the opportunity to acquire additional funds between adventures. My guess is the way the Mark of Heroes tries to balance this is by granting each character Coin on Hand to purchase additional items they may not have known they would need (i.e. extra potions, tickets, cold-weather or desert outfits, etc.) Since most things can be resold for half value (unless they are consumed), it's possible for a player to recoup some of their investment in an item during an adventure.

On a more technical side of things, the MoH CS (p.10) states: "CoH also works in this manner <referring to the previous paragraphs on consumable items and thier regeneration between adventure sessions>. For the same reasons you don't get to keep items you find in the adventures, you don't get to keep items you bought with CoH." The most logical interpretation of this is that your CoH returns to the appropriate total as listed on your character sheet, regardless of what you purchased with it.

You ONLY lose gold from your character tracker for things SPECIFIED as a gold loss in the mod. You do NOT lose gold for spending 500 cash on hand during the mod. If you have been docking your players for this, you are incorrect. At present, the only time you permanently lose gold is for raise dead or resurrection. Even paying to have levels restored doesn't seem to reduce your overall gold total. Remember MoH and GR have "recycled" gold. Even though it's "spent", it's never really "gone".

Good to know. I didn't know, so I thought I'd err on the side of caution.
