| WolfStar7605-04-06, 01:01 PM | As a new RPGA member/Herald-Level GM, I have signed up for this month's Mark of Heros D&D Campaign session Desolate Endeavor. I also know that I'm more escited about this than my friends/players, and I have entirely too much free time at work, so I've been looking over the fast play characters, and, since pretty much all the minis that are listed, I thought I'd take a look at their stats. This, in turn, has lead me to a few questions. For example, with the current level bump, MoH characters are, as I understand it, all to be 7th Level. However, the stat card for the Fastplay character "Human Wizard" (aka Wizard Tactian from the Underdark Mini set) is only a level 4 wizard. Does that mean if someone chooses this character as their fast play character, they play them as level 4? Or should the player use the listed stats as a start point and go ahead and pickup the next 3 levels to get to level 7? I'm also curious to know, since I collect the minis, I see that the "main" fastplay characters all have "mini unlock" benefits - is that intended to be applied if the players themselves have/bring that mini, or can I, as the GM bring the mini and grant the player the unlock? Or does it even matter? Lastly, I was looking at the Statblock for the Warforged Fighter (aka WarForged Bodyguard from the War Drums set), and as I was trying to make him into a full-on MoH character sheet, I don't think the feats/skills add up right. Do I just stick with what's on the card, or make edits to the full-on sheet so that the character is more inline with 3.5 rules? In the *long* run, most of this probably doesn't matter, but as its my first stab at GMing, I'd like to get into the habit of doing as much "right" as possible. :) |

It's also worth noting that none of the miniature-only fastplay characters have miniature unlock abilities listed, which are supposed to be common to all the fastplays. I'd say just recreate the character as best you can and call it a fastplay. If the RPGA can't be bothered to do things correctly that can't really beat down your door for doing it your own way.
