Kalashtar can start out as psionic classes (with the card), but how available are psionic classes otherwise? Can you unlock them with the PrC unlocking that you get at 5th, 10th, and 15th level? For instance, is this a valid character?

Human Bard 10/Warmind 10
Unlocking Warmind at 5th or 10th level, as well as unlocking and taking Wild Talent at some point before 10th level.

And could you unlock the base classes? For instance:

Human Fighter 4/Psychic Warrior 6/Warmind 10
Unlocking Psychic Warrior at 5th level and Warmind at 10th level.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

You can't unlock anything from the XPH since it isn't on the secondary source list in the current edition of the Campaign Standards - not sure if it ever will be either.

So The only way is to have a Kalashtar or an Uncommon Changling.

Two questions then:

First, what about psionic classes in other books than the XPH? There aren't many, but Frostburn had one, IIRC, and it's one of the secondary sources.

Second, the Uncommon Changeling card doesn't unlock psionic PrCs, but can you then unlock them yourself at 5th/10th level? For instance, could you be a changeling Psion/Metamind if you had that card?

From the Appendix 3 of the Campaign Standards:

In Mark of Heroes, only member of the Kalashtar races can be psionic PCs.

Obviously, the Uncommon Changeling card has modified this a bit. However, it's clear that the only way to become psionic is to have a card (since you require a card to play a Kalashtar).

If you can meet the requirements to take a Psionics PrC from a source other than the XPH and unlock it sure you can.

No, again because the XPH isn't a secondary source for the campaign.

Oh well. It's just kind of odd that you could be a Changeling Psion/Cryokineticist (with the card, obviously), but not a Changeling Psion/Metamind.

They might allow it later on with a card, or they could modify the Campaign Standard to allow it. Of course, Elvis could still be alive as well...

With RPGA Campaign standards you never can tell what will be unlock at a later date or not. Sometimes the rules don't make sense, but there isn't much we can do about it.

If you really want to play that character, I'd suggest telling the team responsible for MoH that you want it. If enough people ask they might do it. Never hurts to ask. (but sometimes the answer does ;) )
