On-line play? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-25-05, 11:28 AM People are asking on various yahoo groups about playing MoH on-line. As far as I have heard, like Green Regent, MoH is NOT allowed to be played on-line, but I can't find any specific reference for that on the RPGA site. Does anyone have any idea where we can point these people so they stop bugging us GMs to run on-line because "no one has said you can't"?

04-25-05, 07:25 PM I know that and you know that, but there are a bunch of people who won't accept that what we say is true without seeing it in writing. They are from the school of "if it doesn't say we CAN'T, then we CAN". These folks are making a lot of noise in some areas and pitching a fit because we (the GMs) are being stubborn and obstinate in their eyes because we won't run MoH on-line for them.

If you don't have a reference for me to quote, you're not helping me any just to reiterate what I already know.

If you were to see the arguments on the various on-line gaming and RPGA GM yahoo groups, you'd see my frustration. I was at Winter Fantasy when LotGR was announced 2 years ago, so I KNOW what they said and never questioned it, myself. I talked to Ian and SRM at both Gen Con SoCal and Winter Fantasy during this past year and KNOW what they said. However, what I say, no matter how true, does not carry any weight with others and is NOT the same as hearing it from an official RPGA source.

I too was at Winter Fantasy 2005, when this very question was asked yet again. The same answer was given, No. The fact that GMs know this and are telling people should be good enough. In an ideal world anyway. In this one, I agree with you that some one at HQ should say something on the subject. In a nice neat qoutable format. The Dispel Confusion, section of the website would be a great place. Or heck even in this message board. Until that happens though, we are just going to have to say, No. :nonono: :pbbbtt:

The fear from the rest of us is that the RPGA will find out and use that as a reason/excuse to terminate or further restrict on-line gaming for the rest of the RPGA, as well.
