| Templeton09-18-05, 01:41 AM | I have not been able to post a validation for Certs for my players for MoH. I must be missing some code or something. I keep getting a message of invalid entry or some such. I have given my players the paper certs and noted on them that the online system does not seem to be working. What is the secret to posting these online so that my players pc tracking is accurate? Thanks, Templeton |

Once you submit the players, the next step should come up. *Make sure to answer the adventure questions on the validation site. (That's how the system knows how much gold and experience to award). There should be a button to validate your results. Beyond that, I have no clue. All my games have gone through with no trouble, ever. The Story Objects given out in MoH games are not "certs" as we know them from Greyhawk. They are just interesting bits that the players get to take and use in other MoH adventures. If the info does not get validated on the website, they won't get gold or experience. |
| Templeton09-18-05, 11:56 AM | Everything is working except the story objects. I can't seem to figure out how to tell the system that the players got them. I enter yes but get an error message. I figured there must be some code or something for each story object. Everything else is going through just fine as far as I know. I have given the players the printout of the story objects but it does not show up online, as I keep getting an error message for just that part of the validation process. Any ideas? Templeton |

Adventures will of course have a number of story objects unique to their play, but there will also be a DM’s Toolbox group of story objects—objects that can be given out in any adventure at the DM’s discretion. Many of these things will be general and roleplaying related, but many special qualifications for prestige classes will live in that set of story objects. Doing this allows local DMs to design and run adventures suited for the stories and progressions of local players. In this way, if you want to qualify for a prestige class, you can ask a local DM to actually write an adventure that helps you achieve this…with a suitable amount of challenge and danger to make such a qualification all the more memorable!I personally do not know how to access the DMs toolbox, or how to enter the story oblects. When I reported results for No Ticket I noticed the cert fields, since I didn't know what to do with them, I ignored them. :D No one I asked knew how to use them either. I suspect this just hasn't been worked out yet. I haven't been involved in this very long, but I have discovered that things are usually slow, and dates are extremely fluid. I am awaiting the DM's toolbox with great interest, but since adventures (and thus experience) are slow, I don't think prestige classes are within reach of many characters. I suspect this, combined with the significant task of adding all the objects to meet the special requirements of all the allowable prestige classes, has conspired to put this feature on the "back burner". And so we wait. (Hmmm unofficial motto of the Digger's Union? Or at least MoH players?) |
