Hi, I would have some questions about Mark of Heroes and RPGA in general. So here it is:

About Fastplay Character:
Do there's a way to get the minis individually instead of buying a pack of boosters to get them?

Do the players can choose their advancement or do there is also a premade advancement for higher level-play? In other words, can a player control their advancement?

There seems to have some errors in the sheets of some of them (such as the Warforged getting to much load, the Bard not having any CoH bonus for her perform ranks etc.), do we can correct them ourserlve?

Other Questions:
Why do I don't see the Eberron Published Adventures in this section when I want to order an event? Also, how many sessions are generally necessary for finishing them?

I saw at many places comments that give me the impressions that it's necessary to have some Campaign Cards in RPGA events, did I misunderstood?

For now, they're the only questions I have to ask, thanks to answer them.

1. The minis are only available in booster packs. However, you can pick up individual minis on eBay or from other sources. Depending on the rarity of the figure, it could be cheap.

2. The players do not control their advancement. When a level bump occurs, then everyone moves to the new minimum level. Based on LGR, it is unlikely that a PC who plays all the modules will be more than a level ahead.

3. In LGR, the fast play characters were pathetic. Unless there has been a dramatic improvement (and it doesn't sound like that from the errors you report), I wouldn't use a fast play character.

4. The Eberron published adventures have a tiny window when they are eligible for RPGA play. I suspect you're looking at 3-4 sessions each.

5. You don't need reward cards to play RPGA events (you do need a membership card/number). However, the reward cards open up additional options for character creation and advancement.

Plus, none of the fastplay characters are rare (I'm pretty certain the Deathknell ones are uncommon). If you shop around and look for good deals, most can probably be found for around $5 with shipping and handling, at most.

Was more about: Do the fastplay character also have premade advancements?

Exemple: When a player take a 1st level fastplay character and go to 2rd level he gain a bonus feat.

Can he chose the bonus feat or does there is also a premade advcancement made for the fastplay characters?

You play a fastplay character as is on the sheet. They will update fastplay characters with the level bumps. If you advance your character (or play with the additional EV from a previous adventure), you do get to choose the bonus feat, but you are now no longer playing a fastplay character. The fastplay characters are for people playing the first time in the campaign or after a level bump or to play a class (fighter, cleric, wizard, or rogue only) that is not represented by the other PCs.

Another question:

Do the players have to play the MoH adventures to keep advancing their character or do playing Eberron Home Game or Eberron Published Adventure can also count when calculating Xp for their MoH Characters?
Tiberien

Well, only MoH adventures count... BUT... you can run one of the published adventures, or something you make up or whatever else as a MoH "DM's mark" which will make it a MoH adventure, so you would collect a generic amount of treasure and xp for it. This assumes of course that another DM's mark gets added to the DB as the last one expired in April. ;)

How do I make this (to make an adventure count as a MoH DM's Mark)?

Well, you order a "DMs Mark" for your event. It will have information helping you create an original adventure and tie it in to events of Mark of Heroes. Unfortunately, there is no current DMs Mark available for ordering.

a large number of the fastplay bonus effects are equipment ties "[something] is masterwork, and your coast to buy a magic [something] later is reduced by [cost]"
that leads me to think there'll at least be some options there, otherwise it'll be useless to bother (it'll eventually be magical anyways, and thus masterwork...) since you can't spend any of the fastplays ev

Another question:

Players earn XP and Gold at the end of each adventure but I don't understand how that work. Do that work normally or differently?

Exemple: Forgotten Forge (in the ECS) give enough XP for a group of 4 players to upgrade to lvl.2. If the next game they play at RPGA they bring their character do they will be lvl.2 and thus can't play lvl.1 games?

Also there seem to had an error when I ordered an event this morning. For the date I wrote 29/5/05 and they said the event was going to be in 5/5/2029 ? As I can understand that mean I should have wrote the years first it seems but I find it a bit strange...

The GM answers certain questions about the adventure in a questionaire they send to WotC. When you bring up your online character sheet, it will show you how much "gold" you earned from the adventure. You add this to your starting gold when you equip your character (remember you start anew after each adventure).

You won't know how much experience you have. You'll just see that you gained a level.

I suprised it picked it up. The format that is standard in the U.S. (where WizKids is based) is month/day/year. So, today would be 05/21/2005 (or 5/21/05). The computer obviously saw that wasn't accurate (since there is no 29th month), but messed up how it was placed.

Ok so if I understand they just make you level up when you have made enough adventure? Because in the MoH document it say that with adventure the character will lvl up. Fow do they calculate it (specifically with Dm's Mark and the like)?

Also, how do you deal with a player wanting to play in a lvl.4 adventure if his main character isn't that lvl? Does he take a fastplay character apropriate for that level, does he take some which were made for the adventure (I know that in many adventure they include premade PCs but since there is fastplay character in MoH I suppose they replace them) or does he makes a new one?
And how to deal with EV? If it's his first MoH adventure but it is a lvl.2+ adventure, how many gold does he has?

I know it makes a lot of questions but I really want to start this and this questions really bugs me.

You gain XP based on how the judge rates your table. You never know your exact total, although the web site reflects when you go up in level.

You have your PC as printed out from the RPGA site which reflects levels gained and any level kicks. Otherwise you have a starting PC.

The modules are optimized for a specific level, but supposedly include adjustments for parties above or below the recommended range.

Or the attribute point buys for the fighter and how they are completely squed up, or the bard who happens to have a barbarians characteristics... or how some of the Fast play characters have 5 actionpoint as apposed to 3 even without the heroic feat?

Yeah... gotta love it... :P

Hi

Can I create a new character as Warmage, the way I can in Living Greyhawk?
(I don't have any of these 'cards' they talk about. Only registered with LG rewards, player & GM).

If I need 'card', can I buy the set somewhere?

Lastly, can I take Recaster as Prestige Class (I'm taking only 6 lvls Warmage).

Thanks
Paul H

PS What's the stat/racial info re changelings?

Someone else will probably have the definite, but I think warmages aren't allowed in LGH for whatever reason. Don't know why since they are one-trick ponies.

warmages are allowed in LG..but this is Mark of heroes where yes you would need a reward card to play that class.

you could find some of them on a certain auction site if you so choose. the car 'off the beaten path' is the one you want.

I will start an MoH game in July but the first adventures will be retired. Since it's impossible that with the July DM's Mark (and maybe the June DM's Mark if I recieve quickly my blank membership cards) the players will be lvl.3 for EMH-4 Finding the Way, does that mean that I'll have to run it with some modification for it to be apropriate for them or does that mean that they'll have to create their character at higher level (in which case I wonder how they'll have to deal with gold)? I think than that mean that I'll have to run it with some modification, but an affirmation would be nice.

Also, anybody know why the first adventures are retired and if they will eventually return because I find it really bad for them (my players) to be obligated to start without having done the first adventures that will possibly have sequels. Maybe I could run Reflection as a DM's Mark, at least this way they will be able to play EMH-3 when it will be available.

Thanks for the help

Until now when an adventure is retired never comes back. Is a shame but is true.

If a character is death the player can start another character at the lowtest level. The new character will recieve the XP. You can have up to two characters but only the main character will get the XP. Any player can use a Fast Play character instead their normal character at any time. You can modify a Fast Play character but then it becomes a normal character.

Your players can't start to play a new character higher than Lv. 1 until a level bump occurs.

The only way you have to play an older adventure and get the MoH advancement is, as someone says before, through the DM Mark's, but since you can't order the adventure you can't download the file

The adventures have a recommended start level, but any GM can scale the encounters to suit the adventure to his players. Inside the adventure you will get some guidelines to do that (including alternative stats).

If you have a character who play all the adventures until this day that character pass through all the leves required, so, when a new adventure comes, your character always have the minimun level. The level bump is to help players who doesn't play every adventure or new players.
