DoveArrow 08-24-05, 11:50 AM	Since the level bump, my warforged character has gone from a level 1 artificer to a level 4 artificer. At first, I was a little upset because I was thinking about multiclassing. However, I told one of the guys I play with about it, and he says they don't track what classes you've taken because you can retool that information between game sessions. However, the Campaign Standards say that you cannot retool your character's classes. So am I missing something? Are you actually allowed to retool your character's classes? Let me know, because this was really a surprise to me.
ajpopp 08-24-05, 01:10 PM	The Campaign Standards say that you cannot change the classes you take. However, I think you are looking at the Character Info page and misunderstanding what it says. It only lists your character's level and its first class. In other words, the first class you took was Artificer, and now you are level 4. You can multiclass, but once you choose classes for levels 2, 3 and 4, you're stuck with them. This assumes that you haven't yet played the character after the level bump, because if you've played it as a level 4 Artificer, that's what it is. Of course, it's an honors system, because the RPGA doesn't track your classes and expansion list, yet you are not allowed to change them. While I don't condone cheating, I do condone correcting honest mistakes. In the worst case scenario, you could create a new warforged artificer and start at leve 4 with 5,000 GP and the other classes you want.
DoveArrow 08-24-05, 05:31 PM	I've been talking with a GM from GenCon. He says that the only thing they were told to pay attention to was the level of the character and the module they'd played in. I don't know if that means anything, but I throw it out there for consideration. Of course, it's an honors system, because the RPGA doesn't track your classes and expansion list, yet you are not allowed to change them. I hereby promise not to change my classes... while you're looking. :P
