| Beware of Kobold04-03-06, 12:56 PM | Hello, I am planning to join the RPGA and I am creating at a character at 7th level as specified by the standards document, but I am confused about whether or not anything is unlocked for me yet. Do i get to unlock 6 things as I create the character (1 at each level above first) or do I only get to unlock things when I gain levels through RPGA sanctioned play |
| drDRFAUSTUS04-03-06, 06:48 PM | reading some earlier post, it looks like we can add things to our expansion lists even if we did not play the levels. 5, 10, 15, 20, etc seem to be special expansion slots. I need to look into that or any one want to provide a quick answer? |
| grahamdrew04-03-06, 08:38 PM | The expansion slots every five levels you can use for racial substitution levels or prestigue classes. You can't do that with your other expansion slots. Andrew Beard |
| Beware of Kobold04-03-06, 10:15 PM | but are you able to shed any light on the original question? |
| Sieylianna04-04-06, 08:04 AM | but are you able to shed any light on the original question? Yes, you can unlock things for the levels you skip, in accordance with the normal campaign rules. Ed |
| drDRFAUSTUS04-04-06, 03:46 PM | Well, Kobolds, sounds like you can make that Ninja you wanted after all. You are allowed two characters, so keep the old guy. |
| karlhunt04-26-06, 09:58 PM | So adding substitution levels is all well and good but since I can't unlock them till 5th level and most substitutions happen between 1st and 4th levels what's the point? |
| Madfox1104-27-06, 04:38 AM | Luckily in MoH you can change the stuff on retrospect. So if you take the warforge paladin substitution levels on level 5 you can apply them on the lower levels. |
| grahamdrew04-27-06, 07:55 AM | Luckily in MoH you can change the stuff on retrospect. So if you take the warforge paladin substitution levels on level 5 you can apply them on the lower levels. Are you sure about that? Classes taken is one of the things that can't be retooled, so I've always through that included racial substitution levels as well. Every time I've seen someone take a racial substitution level it was unlocked by a campaign card anyway. Andrew Beard |
| Frobi-Wan Kenobi04-27-06, 09:38 AM | This has been talked about before and the MoH CS list calls them racial substitution types not levels so they can be retooled. You are keeping the same class - just changing the SQs (and sometimes the spells and hit points) of a class that your PC has already taken. |
| drDRFAUSTUS04-27-06, 06:57 PM | My local judge rulled the same way. He said that a character with Warforged Race and Fighter Class who retools to take a Warforged Fighter level is still basically taking the same class. It is just a special benefit that you have unlocked given your race class/combo. looks like I made a mistake about my earlier post about Kobolds taking Ninja class. Unlocking a 'mundane' class does not seem to be an option. |
