Upgraded Fastplay Characters [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-14-06, 06:37 PM I went ahead and started to update the three fastplay characters from Underdark to 7th level from their 4th level cards. So far, all I've done is the half-orc paladin.

I did discover that these characters are very poorly done for Mark of Heroes. The Half-Orc paladin was built with 24 pt. buy, not 25. He also didn't have enough hit points.

HalfOrc Paladin, Male Half-Orc Pal7: CR 7; Medium; HD 7d10+7(Paladin) ; hp 53; Init +1; Spd 20; AC:22 (Flatfooted:22 Touch:11); Atk +11/6 base melee, +8/3 base ranged; +13/8 (1d10+5, +1 Sword, bastard); +8/3 (1d6, Shortbow); SQ: Darkvision (Ex): 60 ft.; RF: Orc Blood; AL LG; SV Fort +7, Ref +4, Will +3; STR 19, DEX 12, CON 13, INT 8, WIS 10, CHA 12.
Skills: Heal +10.

Feats: Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Sword, bastard, Power Attack, Weapon Focus: Sword, bastard.
Spells Known (Pal --/1)

Armor: +1 Half-plate (1,750 gp).
Shields: +1 Shield, heavy wooden (1,157 gp).
Goods: Coin: gp (37) (37 gp); Identification papers, standard (2 gp); Traveling papers (2 sp); Holy symbol, silver (25 gp); Backpack (2 gp); Bedroll (1 sp); Coin: sp (3) (3 sp); Flint and steel (1 gp); Rope, hemp (50 ft.) (1 gp); Waterskin (full) (1 gp); Whetstone (2 cp); Coin: cp (8) (8 cp).

Feel free to update the other characters. They probably wouldn't be legal for "taking one for the team," but they certainly would be playable by new players.

05-16-06, 09:19 AM There are also errors on the fast-play characters from the .zip files.

Some have the wrong equipment values listed (I think the Shifter Barb srpings to mind with the cost of his armor) and I think there is errors on the Gnome Cleric as well.

They really need to re-visit them with some attention...they do! :D

05-27-06, 07:20 AM I'm not very familiar with any of the RPGA games, but I thought they generally used 28 point buy anyway, not 25?

Mark of Heroes uses 25 point buy. (per MoH Campaign Standards PDF)
Living Greyhawk uses 28 point buy. (per LG Campaign Standards PDF)
I'm not sure about the others as I don't play them regularly.
