| Cookie Lee11-18-05, 05:55 PM | Since the Racial Substitution Level Warforged Artificer 5 is easily reachable by the expansion level at 5 or the Unlock card Forged for War, and I hope to reach the level at which I can opt for that level if BKConqueso ever gets the rounds that I played there reported: Is the Weapon Familiar considered a class feature of that substitution level ( Much as the Paladin's Mount, Druid's Companion, or Arcane Caster's Familiar) or An intelligent Magic Item and therefore illegal under the current Campaign Standards. Thanks, Cookie Lee |

OTOH, if they do disallow it then it's not hard to rework your PC to compensate in EMH. |

Although it mimics alot of the abilities of the restricted "intelligent item" it simply is not. If the warforged lost a level that takes the "weapon familiar" ability away, the item returns to normal until the level is gained back. Its definatly a class feature, and nothing in the CS 1.2 states that "weapon familiars" are banned. Until the campaign standards say no "weapon familiars" ill allow them in the games i run as a GM. However this does leave me with the question, what do i do if a warforged gives his item to someone and the item takes control of the character? Simple - they give it back as the item is "homesick" and controls the character to give it back. If the warforged trys to avoid the character then depending on the skills of the new owner the item would either mysteriously show back up or if continued efforts fail to return the item... it simply Dies of lonelness as others just dont understand it. Familar Death is not pretty for characters and it would teach them to not give it away. |
