| drDRFAUSTUS04-26-06, 04:12 PM | Unlocking the Wild Talent ability allows non-psionic characters to take psionic feats. Does this unlock them in the RPGA? or does my character need to put those feats on his expansion list? |
| TimRat04-27-06, 04:55 PM | it unlocks them for your MoH character ya. you dont need to put them on your expansion list since you ahve a cert that does that for you. |
| drDRFAUSTUS04-27-06, 06:50 PM | So, I will tell my players that they do not need to place any further psionic feats they wish to take onto their expansion sheet because this one feat unlocks all other ones for them. That is how I am reading this. Thanks |
| TimRat04-30-06, 08:59 PM | if the card says it unlocks all of them then no they do not need to place them on the expansion list. if it says you have to pick one then i'm at a loss lol. |
| drDRFAUSTUS05-01-06, 12:16 AM | It is a certification code (story goal) for April's DM's Mark. It states that it just unlocks the Wild Talent Feat. But the Wild Talent Feat gives access to Psionic Feats. My player wanted to know if he had to go unlock OTHER psionic feats using his expansion list. The Story Goal only states that it unlocks the Wild Talent. But Wild Talent does not mention RPGA rules, because it is just a DND feat. The description of the Story Goal does not give any mention. Because you are not supposed change your expansion list, the feat does not seem to be useful at all. We ruled that the Story Goal unlocks the other feats until we get some kind of other input or something official. |
| Madfox1105-01-06, 04:28 AM | Since you cannot unlock psionic feats at all without a campaign card, I would not call it useless ;) |
| drDRFAUSTUS05-01-06, 04:05 PM | Because you cannot retool your expansion list like you can your character, my players would not be able to unlock additional psionic feats until they level (which is not a common occurence in the RPGA). That means my players could take Wild Talent, which is unlocked with the Story Object. Now they have two PSP and the ability to use psionic items. But they cannot take any other psionic feats (which they would be able to do in regular dnd) because those other feats are not on their expansion list. Well, if Wild Talent does not not unlock the other feats. Until we hear other wise, we are ruling that it carries the weight of a campaign card (which unlock multiple things at once). So no, it is not useless. The PSP are useless (until they level, so they can get another psionic feat). The use of psionic items without rolling a use Magic Device check is neat, though. |

I didn't know you could use UMD for Psionic Devices! Why, oh why have I put all those ranks into that stupid Use Psionic Device skill! :P All kidding aside I'd treat the story object as unlocking all psionic feats from the XPH only. If a judge has a problem than just whip out your Dorje of Baleful Teleport and let them have it! Okay so I guess not all kidding was aside. Rob |
| drDRFAUSTUS05-02-06, 01:06 AM | lol, ok, did not know about Use Psionic Device. Ok, so is the feat useless again, hehe??? No, I guess not. :) |
| Madfox1105-02-06, 03:31 AM | ...until they level (which is not a common occurence in the RPGA).... Isn't it? My Mark of Heroes character is level 9 right now, which means that he leveled twice over 5 adventures. That is a lot quicker then in most home campaigns. |
| drDRFAUSTUS05-02-06, 08:42 PM | Wow, that would be great if our group could say the same. Each time we play, we have had 6 players. The last mission we played, we did not fight the big baddy, but we finished the story. Not even one level has been gained out of three games so far. The gold ain't too shabby, though. |

Now that sounds strange. At our game day in April we ran the DMs mark and EMH10 "Desolate Endeaver". Every player went from level 7 to level 8 (two tables of four players each). I would think that six players should definitely gain a level after three games. (And yeah, the gold IS nice!) |
