Anyone know anything about the Xendrik Expeditions? I signed up for the 3 rounder at Gencon, but I'm wondering if it will be like Mark of Heros.

I like the Eberron setting, but MOH was the worst RPGA campaign I've ever played. Poorly supported and level bumps? Not my style.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on the new campaign.

There's not a great deal of information around yet. The blurbs for the modules, which include the information on the four factions are available in various places including the Adventure Summaries on the RPGA site: https://events.wizards.com/RPGAWeb/external/scenarios.asp.

I think that Well of Woe will be better/more fun if you've chosen a faction and played the first adventure for that faction, but I might be wrong.

Some discussion of the news that is trickling out is on this yahoo group: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/rpgaxenex/. It is D&D Campaigns so level-bumps and relatively short play windows are inevitable, although the play windows seem wider than Mark of Heroes and only Well of Woe is part of the GenCon Indy extended premiere scheme so all eight of the other adventures (plus eight DM's Mark packets) will be available between launch and the end of the year. I've heard that Keith Baker is involved in some fashion and that some aspects of the 'Living' model are being used - the use of volunteer 'Factionmasters' to have a role similar to the Living Greyhawk triads in driving forward a sub-set of the plotlines and writing or procuring scenarios is definately a step forward! They are obviously in place - they've written the first scenarios - although who they are hasn't been announced and probably won't be until Origins.

All in all I'm somewhat excited by the possibilities for this campaign (and also somewhat heartened by the recent increased activity regarding MoH... modules, including DM's Marks in the ordering database is a big improvement!)

Hi all. I signed up too for some Xendrik Expeditions adventures at Gen Con. What kind of characters should I bring (is there a campaign standard? Do we use the Mark of Heroes standard?) Or will characters be provided?

Since its a D&D campaign it will be a 25 point buy. I'm sure they'll have pre-gen Pc's on hand at GenCon too.

Does anyone have a clue as to how many registered characters will be allowed for Xen'drik Expeditions? Given that each of the four factions has its own set of adventures (except for common ones, like Well of Woe), it would be fun if one could play the multiple arcs of XE with different characters. If possible, I would like to DM a faction, and play in the three others.

While I have seen nothing official, I sincerely doubt that the RPGA would limit a player to a single faction. So in order to play all XenEx adventures 4 character minimum. The other question that is up in the air is the number of characters that a player can have per faction. I would lean towards saying the two active PC limit that MoH uses would be in effect.

But hey, nothing officials come out so I could be completely wrong.

the one poster is correct. basically you are on the right track as i have also decided to DM a faction and play in the three others. however i know you can't do this. you can't take a crimson codex character and play them in the divine faction adventures. can't mix and match and i think this was out already.

more will be coming in the next week or so i'm sure as the mods come out at origins.

Definitely looking forward to more information on this campaign. I'm currently set for Sahaugin Stone with some friends, but it kinda sucked that we didn't have more info about the factions by the time we had to decide. Anyway, any idea when there might be more info? I am glad to hear though that we'll be able to play multiple factions. I too will likely try to DM one and then play in another.

I trust though that there will be enough faction adventures to allow characters to advance without playing too many core adventures. Could eventually pose a problem for those of us who want to both DM and play since we can't do both on the same module.

Oh there will be plenty of adventures. remember there will be DM's marks for each of the factions. so you have those as well. like 8 of them at least a year if not more.

the website for xendrik should be going up by the end of next week and the campaign standards are either going to be with the website or come right after that.

The factions each have their own unique things in them (thats all i can say for right now) and those final touches are being put together right now.

Love the article with Stephen talking about the factions. I just wished this would have been out before Gen Con registration but I am still excited about the adventures I chose to play in.
