DoveArrow 06-27-05, 04:31 PM	Since the RPGA doesn't actually tell you how much XP you actually have, what happens if you happen cast a spell with an XP component at an RPGA event and you don't have enough XP to actually cast it? Do you go into XP debt? The same question applies to spells with gold piece costs. :thinks:

IceV2 07-01-05, 10:02 PM	A character start with 0 XP. But at the end of their first adventure he get some XP. If you cast some spell witch have an XP cost the GM will report how much you expend. In that case your character will get less XP than the expected. Wizards will tell you when your character gain a new level (or, if you expend a lot, lost a level :D ). In the case of the GP cost is the same. Every adventure gives you some GP, you can't expend more than your GP limit (witch, I pressume, is what Wizards gives by level, so you can't have a negative value).

So this is a change from the rule that you cannot spend so much XP that you lose a level (see page 174 of the Player's Handbook). That's a scary thought. I like my XP debt idea a lot better. :P
IceV2 07-02-05, 08:09 AM	Well... I'm not sure if you lose a level. It didn't happen to me :D . I believe you can't expend so much XP to loose a level, you get always more that you could expend.
