They seem a lot more vile and disgusting when you read from Lords of Madness when it's talking about the sample encounter with an aboleth, area 14, breeding cavern: "Female prisoners who are enslaved and won't be missed by anyone in town face a truly terrible fate here. Zlorthishen uses them as incubators for new skum." I don't even want to remember to think about how that happens! |

| Return of the Flumph01-27-07, 07:21 AM | where do i find teretomorphs. i want to know:dancin: what other creatures can scare a aboleth? MM2. According to LOM, aboleth are also quite intimidated by krakens. |
| TheCrawlingSpleen01-27-07, 06:53 PM | What other creatures can scare an aboleth? Flumph mentioned Krakens, but there is one more creature to bring up. Lords of Madness, page 30. the inscrutable mind flayers are the race that aboleths come the closest to fearing. Aboleths have been around to watch most creatures be created or evolve, but since illithids hail from the distant future, aboleths have no memory of them coming to be. The mind flayers seem to have just appeared out of nowhere, which makes the aboleths nervous. |
