| Lokik03-24-04, 11:13 AM | I showed my instructor the Tarrasque out of the monsters manual. He liked it so much he made it the class masscot. Two of us in the class are actual gamers, but the whole class thought about how we could destroy this near indestructable creature. 1) Two Great Wrym Black Dragons vs. Tarrasque (still a close match) 2) Build a smalll village near where the Tarrasque is hibernating. Fill each house to the brim with Tangle Foot bags. When it comes to eat the houses hopefully it will clog it's huge maw with enouth tangle foot bags. Mabey some would get stuck in its nostrals too. |

| Lokik03-24-04, 03:03 PM | Geeze! I didn't know. This is the first time I've been to this forum. How about you humor me, unless you have no ideas how to kill a Terrasque. |
| Bacon and Eggs03-24-04, 03:59 PM | 1) Three Great Wrym Black Dragons vs. Tarrasque ? |
| Lord T Hawkeye03-24-04, 04:12 PM | Tarrasque as class mascot? Why didn't I ever get cool teachers like that?! Anyway, I'll make up for the above posters. 3. keen, improved critical vorpal sword to the head! 4. Hoard of shadows (str drain him to death) 5. Hoard of jovoks (aura of retribution, Tarrasque takes all the damage he dishes out) 6. Epic Damnation spell. Send him to hell and let them deal with him. ^^ 7. Lure him to where a hecatoncheires is known to reside. Not only would you kill two epic heavy weights with one stone, the money you'd make taking bets on that would be incredible. That's off the top of my head. |
| Baron Phylos03-24-04, 06:41 PM | 8- Drown the sucker in an ocean. |
| Quenditar03-24-04, 07:02 PM | 9 - Set up a teleportation circle that teleports the Tarrasque straight up. Put some bait in the middle. Tarrasque steps in, is teleported right above the circle, falls on the circle, is teleported again.... 10 - Cast Trap the Soul on some object. Tie it to the back of some large herbivore. Set the herbivore out for the Tarrasque to eat. As soon as it eats the beast (and accepting the object), its soul is trapped. No save. Neither of those are my ideas - just favorites culled from previous threads on the topic. |
| Interfector03-24-04, 07:42 PM | 11- You ask with a big smile to Nerull if he wants to kill it...:D |

Anyway, I'll make up for the above posters. 3. keen, improved critical vorpal sword to the head! They no longer stack, and vorpal now only works on a natural 20. Besides, how is your 3 foot-long blade going to cut off a Tarrasque's head? 4. Hoard of shadows (str drain him to death) The Tarrasque is immune to ability damage now. 5. Hoard of jovoks (aura of retribution, Tarrasque takes all the damage he dishes out) 6. Epic Damnation spell. Send him to hell and let them deal with him. ^^ 7. That's off the top of my head. The rest was non-core material :( I suggest dropping something really big on him (maybe repeatedly, while flying) until he gets knocked out. (Falling rules are broken. D20 Modern's falling rules actually make sense.) Then cast wish. |
| wrax03-25-04, 01:57 PM | get the hulking hurler build to throw something really heavy at it for 1,000,000 damage. |
| thofighta03-26-04, 08:42 AM | Think we're down at 6 then. Well, cant supply with that much, but me and my PC's have thought alot on this matter, how to kill the Tarrasque. 6. You get 8,000 mercenaries, and you make ready a wish or a miracle spell. Make the mercenaries shoot arrows at the tarrasque. Sooner or later, one of them will, theoretically, make a 20x20x20 hit, at the tarrasque, wich mean death hit, then you only wish or miracle it dead :) Tarrasque dead. PS: remember to have like 9 wishes prepeared, preferrably from 9 different casters, since there is 30% reflection chanse :P BTW, dont think erythnull is strong enough to beat the tarrasque. Hit, grapple (automatically), swallow whole... Or just grapple... crush...crush repeat repeat repeat until dead.... Due to huge strenght modifiers, and huge size differences... a normal god, like Heironeus, Pelor, Erythnull and such, would be crushed to death.... |
| Archangel03-26-04, 09:50 AM | Instant Death is not a core rule but a variant, so no you cannot kill Tarasque by that way! Also wish spell does not reflect back since nothing goes toward the Tarasque(you just wish him permanently dead)! As for gods: They can fly and that is the simplest of their powers! *smites ArchDemon |
| Zaranthan03-26-04, 10:33 AM | Let's see, epic characters are core in 3.5, so... -Wizard 26, 88 intelligence, 4x Improved Spell Capacity (13th level spells) -Prepare Wail of the Banshee and quickened Wish -Cast Wail, fort save DC 58 or die -Out-of-the-box Tarrasque has a Fort save of +38, a roll of 19 gives 57, which fails a DC 58. -Tarrasque takes ten more subdual damage than it has hit points. -Cast quickened Wish, Tarrasque stays dead. Hmm, Epic Magic Items/Epic Spellcasting spells aren't core, though...guess I'll have to make that wizard level 240 for that 90 Int. (18 base, +5 inherent, +6 enhancement, 29 so far, requires another 60 from level increases, 60 * 4 = 240) -- Leaves us a 5% chance of failure, though (nat 20 on save kinda messes us up). I suppose he could cast a quickened Teleport to get himself to a safe position for next round. After all, how many times is that sucker gonna get lucky? EDIT: Forgot to respond to another bit: "The Tarrasque is immune to ability damage now." Yes, it's immune to ability damage, NOT ability drain. The two are often resisted separately, as is the case here. |
