| Amaron Blackthorn05-27-04, 03:18 PM | Would any one like to share something about the 1/2 dragon PCS? |
| Amaron Blackthorn05-27-04, 03:22 PM | I am sure that many of your ideas would be helpful for DMS and players alike! |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-07-04, 03:18 PM | C'mon on people. lets answer this question, for the benefit of us players and DMs alike! |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast06-07-04, 05:48 PM | Did you have anything in mind? Its a pretty open topic. |
| Siegfried06-07-04, 06:31 PM | My Dm wont let me play as one :tantrum: So I can't offer any advice. |
| Morgangrey06-08-04, 01:09 AM | I've had fun playing one or two in the past. |
| the_heart06-08-04, 07:44 AM | don't play one until you have HD matching your LA. even then you will be kinda fragile - strong, and with a high AC, but if you get hit, it hurts lots. that the kinda thing youre looking for? |
| bordwok06-08-04, 07:59 AM | 1/2 dragons are great fun, especially after reading the savage species book, it gives you loads of ideas. For instance, in one of my campaigns I applyed the half dragon template to a firbolg, a giant race from the MMII and using the rules presented in the savage species suplament, he is 18th level with over 500 HP an AC in the 40's and a STR of 54 no enhancements. Not to mention he can fly, catch and throw large rocks, the epitimy in stronghold defense. |
| Siegfried06-08-04, 09:34 AM | Kool, wonder if I can convine my Dm to let me play one. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-08-04, 03:17 PM | Thanks everyone, but what I had in mind was more people telling us about their half dragon characters, classes, personalites, adventures, etc. |
| Kupo06-08-04, 10:09 PM | Well, myself, I'm rather fond of my Half-Silver Dragon/Human Paladin, even if I haven't actually gotten to use him yet. Half-Dragons prefer Sorceror? Pffft! BS. That nice +8 Strength totally goes down the drain as a sorceror. Half-Dragons make really nice Paladins due to that and the CHA bonus, though. :D |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast06-09-04, 11:07 AM | I once played a half-dragon paladin (the gold variety). IT was a lot of fun until an unfortunate incident with a baby, a halfling, a werewolf and a lying demilich. Good times...good times... |
| bordwok06-10-04, 04:49 PM | The 1/2 dragon firbolg character that I am most prowd of enjoys wrestling with just about anyone crazy or strong enough to test his metle. Favorite move is "The Mile High Pile Driver" 'Once I get you pinned, your @#$ is mine' Great fun showing a red dragon the rope when it comes to close encounters. My next attempt will be with a barbarian class 1/2 dragon. These guys are too much fun to be allowed in campaigns. |
| Baelron06-10-04, 06:41 PM | I have played in a game with a half dragon and he was doing quite well until he killed himself because of his strength bonus which made it so that he broke his own AC. He didn't like losing his guy but he got over it and he is now playing as a Thri-Kreen. I think that it is not fair having a half dragon in the party because if the DM allows it he can have a breath weapon that completely bypasses that of a young dragon of his half dragon type. |
| EldonG06-10-04, 09:16 PM | In my epic game there is a half-dragon Ftr/Sor/Eld...pretty nasty combo, getting both +8 in Str and +2 Cha...primarily, he's a fighter, just with magic for buffing, etc. |
| Deekin06-11-04, 01:36 AM | In one capaigne that has died off, one of my players was a gestalt Fighter-Rough-Shadowlord and he was pretty nasty in combat and in skills. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-11-04, 01:53 PM | thanks everyone, any one else like to share? |
| Ashrayn06-12-04, 05:37 PM | Well, my group plays Dungeons and Dragons 3e. I chose to be a half-human sorcerer. my character is actually a 12-year old half-dragon. He is supposed to be the son of Io, so he has weird coloured hair, eyes, and wings. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-14-04, 01:11 PM | That is great, can you tell us a little bit about what he has done? |
| rubenlinde06-15-04, 04:03 PM | Originally posted by Ashrayn Well, my group plays Dungeons and Dragons 3e. I chose to be a half-human sorcerer. my character is actually a 12-year old half-dragon. He is supposed to be the son of Io, so he has weird coloured hair, eyes, and wings. Ashrayn is the son of Io? The supreme god of dragons (a god of gods like Ao), the guy dragon gods themself fear and worship. The brother of Bahamut & Tiamat? I don't want to overrule a fellow DM but it is very unlikly that Io would ever bed a human. (very, very, very, very unlikely). As the draconomicon states (on page 34) Io cares only for his "children" the dragons. Even worse he doesn't mate he simply creates dragon gods out of thin air. The point i'm tring to make here is that it is a 1/2 dragon temp not a 1/2 supreme god temp. That's a whole different thing all together. I have only been a herald gm (wizards breed of official DM's) but i think this goes over the limit of the 1/2 dragon temp. But as far as i can read you don't use te advantages of being a god so now would be the time to choose another temp. or another daddy because this simply doesn't compute. P.S. for those who want the become a herald it's a online test. |
| Baelron06-17-04, 01:52 AM | I am inclined to agree with rubenlinde about this for one thing you can't be the son of a Intermiediate diety and not be a partial deity yourself not unless you are in a long long line of descendants that stemmed from IO bedding one of the lesser dieties and and them bedding even lesser dragons and so on and so forth. I am also a herald level dm but come on it would take years back before anything like that happened and you would still have some more deity like traits. |
| Helmed Horror06-18-04, 11:32 AM | Our group is about to start a campaign at 6th level and now with my good ol' trusty Complete Warrior, I'm gonna try my luck as a Human Half-dragon: Blue Hexblade 3. I think he would be "intresting" |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-19-04, 04:41 PM | A blue hexblader? That sounds cool. Right now in my group we have a half-gold cleric of Bahamut. He is pretty neat and he is into all things draconic. Right now they have found a psuedo-dragon named Hooba and they seem like they are getting along, for now! |
| Senko06-20-04, 03:18 AM | and where would someone find this online test? |
| Pasquirlio06-20-04, 07:27 AM | On the main site, click the link to rpga and on the right will be a link to the test,. |
| Mage of Sembia06-20-04, 10:19 PM | The point i'm tring to make here is that it is a 1/2 dragon temp not a 1/2 supreme god temp. That's a whole different thing all together. I have only been a herald gm (wizards breed of official DM's) but i think this goes over the limit of the 1/2 dragon temp. Where does it ever say that the children of gods have divine powers? For example, in the Baldur's Gate games, the only unique thing you get are 6 spell-like abilities per day, 2 for each level from 1-3. That is not what I call godlike powers. |
| Senko06-21-04, 01:59 AM | Thanks for the link I'm now an acredited herald level gm now if only that meant something around here. The games fun as they are don't really follow the PnP rules to the letter in many cases. I think although I'd need to look it up that anyone born to a god has a divine rank of 0 automatically with all that entails. |
| Pasquirlio06-21-04, 05:41 AM | You're the child of a god in the Baldur gate's games? I'm interested, which god is that? Never played the games so I'm curious. |
| Senko06-21-04, 08:29 AM | I think its the god of murder? |

What an odd coincidence, right now I am playing a Half-gold cleric of Bahamut and our group found a psuedo-dragon by the name of Hooba as well. Except ours has a craving for Apple Pie. |

Yes you play a child of bhall god of murder nad you were made during the time of troubles. Shame there isn't a game set in the time of troubles, go around random god smacking. |

Faith and pantheons (page 5 to be exact) states that children of deities and mortals have divine rank 0 (like sanko said). Exactly what do you mean thats not what you call godlike powers. Do you no how scary 6 spell like ability's a day are? And do remember that divine rank 0 allready grants damage reduction 35/+4, fire resitence 20,spell resistence 32 and immortality (page 7 FaP). Also baldurs gate folows 2nd edition D&D ruling and even tends to deviate from that here and there. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:04 AM | I am in a dragon campaign right now. 1/2 the party are playing dragons while the other 1/2 are playing 1/2 dragons because we wanted so have some class levels. My character is a Deep 1/2 dragon, Drider, cleric 3. He is the offspring of a drow woman whose house often sends woman to entertain a deep dragon as part of a very old arangment. He currently acts as a 9 cleric of IO because he turned from lolth after she exhiled him and made him a Drider. He has verulant and deadly poison feats, and extra breath weapon. Our DM made all 1/2 dragons breath weapons do 5d8 damage because he said that since all 1/2 dragons pay the same LA thay might as well have the same breath weapon damage. There was a violent and bloody debate over this but in the end we cowered down and submitted. All in all though I thing my guy is extremely cool. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:06 AM | I am so sorry! I didnt mean to log that on this board. Please dont hurt me. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:11 AM | Im playing a deep 1/2 dragon, drider, cleric 3 in a Council of Wyrms setting right now. He one of the coolest characters I've played. My DM made all 1/2 dragons breath weapons do 5d8 damage because by 3e if all 1/2 dragons must pay a LA of +3 he thinks they should all do similar damage on thier breath weapons. Im not griping about this but that dosent mean that a few other PC in this game arent. What do you guys think about this? |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:14 AM | OK i see this is a second page. You guys have got to forgive me. I'm new at this. I promise I'll shut up now. |
| Pasquirlio06-22-04, 10:15 AM | Not much, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the concept of a half dragon half drow half spider combination. Weird images flood to mind. |
| Pasquirlio06-22-04, 10:16 AM | Originally posted by Killgolli Knight OK i see this is a second page. You guys have got to forgive me. I'm new at this. I promise I'll shut up now. Why, it's not that there's anything wrong, you're just asking for opinions, take it easy. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:17 AM | That is cool isnt it! I see a drider with the deep purple scales and claws and the big teeth. You know the whole 9 yards. I think his wings work more like a wasp though with his big body kind of hanging under him. |
| rubenlinde06-22-04, 10:42 AM | I think i sounds good it has some minnor rules problamatics in it but thats oke. Is this the fist time you guys play D&D |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:31 PM | Not the first time, been playin for years. Characters like these are too complex for first timers. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:31 PM | Not the first time, been playin for years. Characters like these are too complex for first timers. |
| Killgolli Knight06-22-04, 10:32 PM | . |
| Killgolli Knight06-23-04, 08:53 AM | The character was written using the Drider advancement chart in Savage Species, and then the deep 1/2 dragon template was added from the draconomicon. I have been very careful to make sure that the character stays inside the rules so, no worries. By the way I am sorry about all the repeat messages I dont know what the heck my computer is doing. |
| Surfer06-23-04, 11:19 AM | on the topic, 1/2 dragon pcs, i heard that dragon disciples go half dragon at a 10th caster lv, is this right? |
| Killgolli Knight06-23-04, 12:12 PM | In Tomb and Blood the dragon disciple gains the 1/2 dragon template at 10th level with his dragon apotheosis ability |
| Killgolli Knight06-23-04, 12:17 PM | By the way dont worry about caster level with the dragon disciple because they dont get any caster levels they only get bonus spells every now end then. A guy in my group played one and assumed he was still getting caster levels, boy was he surprised when the DM told him to knock the levels of spell caster he thought he had gotten. |
| Surfer06-24-04, 03:57 AM | alright thanks, they use arcane right? on the other note, a divine using d.disciple, there is a dragon god that looks like a d12, it gets on my dm's nerves |
| Pasquirlio06-24-04, 04:12 AM | what do tou mean with divine using dragon disciple? And which god looks like a d12? I'm curious. |
| Killgolli Knight06-24-04, 04:32 AM | A requirement to become a dragon disciple is to have the ability to cast arcane spells without preperation, I'm sure if you also had divine caster levels you could use the dragon disciple bonus spells with your divine list too. I could be wrong though. As for the dragon god that looks like a D12 I think you might be talking about Astilabor pg. thirty two in the draconomicon. His symbol is a 12 faceted gem that looks like a D12. |
| DragonX22X06-24-04, 11:02 AM | I wish to get some input on how to create a Half Fang Dragon Character for a campaign that I'm about to be in. So if you have any ideas please send them my way.Half Fang Dragon |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-24-04, 11:11 AM | A psudeo dragon that has a taste for apple pie? And the name is Hooba? I think that is funny! However, I would warn you that it sounds like someone out there is stealing the ideas that our fabolous DM has. Not nice not nice at all! |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-24-04, 11:22 AM | Miclops, a Raistlin of the Red Robes doenst seem to capture what little I know of you. Perhaps a Raistlin in Black or even a Cyan Bloodbane? |

| Amaron Blackthorn06-24-04, 05:13 PM | Trickery thy name is Miclops! |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-24-04, 05:25 PM | By the way, Miclops, welcome to the Black Robes. Perhaps you are in need of a great and powerful Shalafi? Or must I see you as a rival? Should I be careful about mine spellbooks? I hear you enjoy poisoning spellbooks and using Black Robe hunters against those who are foolish enough to wear the White Robes. |
| Mage of Sembia06-25-04, 12:11 AM | Faith and pantheons (page 5 to be exact) states that children of deities and mortals have divine rank 0 (like sanko said). Strictly speaking, the official D&D word is Greyhawk, so many FR rules are just for the FR. But the rules of D&D are often unclear so I guess we should just leave it up to the DMs to make up their own minds. |

Alas a mage hunter with a weak will is not a very good mage hunter at all, dont you agree? |
| Killgolli Knight06-25-04, 10:38 AM | A friend of mine is playing a white dragon, 1/2 fang dragon. His parents were white and fang. He gets all the white abilities + con drain bite, and the other 1/2 dragon perks. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-25-04, 10:40 AM | Originally posted by miclops77 Alas a mage hunter with a weak will is not a very good mage hunter at all, dont you agree? Must one belabor the obvious? |
| bahamut_006-25-04, 01:44 PM | For a solo campaign, I gave my player 2 half dragon npcs (aren't I generous). They're brothers; one uses a spiked chain to trip things and then pound them to death from far away, the other is a monk, well think Zangief from Street Fighter :D |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-25-04, 02:16 PM | What kind of dragon are they? |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-26-04, 02:10 PM | Miclops how go your adventures with Hooba the Pseudodragon?? |
| bahamut_006-26-04, 04:26 PM | Originally posted by Amaron Blackthorn What kind of dragon are they? Just half blue dragons. I really like them, and they're LE which goes with the player. Hopefully I can post some of their exploits..... |

| Amaron Blackthorn06-27-04, 08:42 PM | Miclops? Where you is? |
| miclops7706-28-04, 09:40 AM | Sorry I cant spent 3 hours in front of my computer. As for hooba things are going great, He just loves the little cage I got for him.:smirk: I found out not only does he like pie he also is crazed about various steaks. If I was a rich cleric(which I will soon be) I would spoil that thing. |
| rubenlinde06-28-04, 10:36 AM | I people would stick to the concept of discucions and wouldn't engage in roleplaying. This form would work a lot better. |

| miclops7706-28-04, 11:37 AM | Same reason you would cage a cat, because it gets into messes when unattended and it swears at and poisons people. Thats all. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-28-04, 12:42 PM | "For he is a psuedo-dragon (He is horah for the psuedo-dragon) And it it is a glorious thing to be a psuedo-dragon. (It is horay for the psuedo-dragon horay for the psuedo-dragon)! Poor little guy Just wants some pie Now he's in a cage because of some mage! |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-28-04, 01:09 PM | Miclops, I personally dont know of any cats that swear at people. Are you on some type of medication(s) that the rest of this community should be made aware of? Oh 1 additional question: WHO TOOK THE COOKIES FROM THE COOKIE CAR? |

When applied to the face via Hooba, the result ends in an eruption of laughter by the surrounding members of the table. MATT himself may not like the pseudodragon, but he cannot display this with every character. Doing so would be pure metagaming. Yeah but he has 2 cats. |

| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 10:51 AM | Any new developments in your campaign Miclops, how is Hubba? |
| miclops7706-30-04, 11:11 AM | Not yet, we play tonight, so I could only find out tonight. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 11:16 AM | Are you enjoying playing your 1/2 dragon Miclops? Why? |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 11:35 AM | I think that the more people that contribute to this board who can give us ideas and stories about their half dragon characters the better it is for those of us who read it. |
| miclops7706-30-04, 11:37 AM | The one thing that I enjoy about this character is that he is like 2 levels above everyone else which means whenever somebody dies they might actually go up in level. The average level in our group is 5 so some of the characters that are 3-4(I dont know why) will actually go to 5. Ive always played human before so this is actually new to me playing another race. So I often find myself looking through the source books trying to define my character. Giving him the insticts of a Gold dragon, while still making him human. Ive actually started to build my hoard, in order to do so I am going to charge my party members for healing spells. Not much though, I am thinking of 100gp per level of spell, 50gp if they are worshippers of Bahamut(I think hed like this), and free if they are Droconic. Your Pms are full. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 11:42 AM | I for one dont see a problem with charging for spells. What are you going to do if the party member cannot pay? Also, how greedy are you going to be if people have treasure that you want? |
| miclops7706-30-04, 11:49 AM | If they to broke than they better get a job.:smirk: Actually I will give them slack, but I wont let them take advantage of my generosity. If they have something I want I would rather be a little subtle about it. Me and the rogue have got an agreement going on, he gets me my preciouses and I make him his magical daggers. Since I am the only one in the group with craft magic arms and armor and capable of casting spells, it is remarkebly cheaper. |

How good is that to encourage somebody to steal for you? That is not a good thing and if I was your DM there would be consequences for someone claiming to be lawful good but not acting that way. Lawful good follows the law and they are bound to it. Stealing is against the law in all societies, except for kender. Also you are contributing to the deliquency of other people. Have you pondered the above. |

| miclops7706-30-04, 12:04 PM | This is assuming that I failed to get it within reasonable means. I would feel much better to have someone take it for me than to have to beat another character to the submittal.:smirk: Of course if it benefits another player more I may let them borrow it. Its not stealing its sufficing the really big guy.:D |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 12:06 PM | No, it is stealing according to your alignment. Sins of omission and sins of comission are just as if not as bad as actually doing the deed yourself. Is an explanation in order? :sad:sad: |

If they "need" the money they have than they are free to keep it. I have to buy wands and potions somehow or another. |

| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 12:11 PM | Maybe my last post and the quote I quoted were not clear. If you are encouraging people to steal things for you then you may fall out of favor with Bahamut and he may not grant you access to your spells. |

That is not right either. How then should a lawful good character deal with that situation and remain lawful good? It might be hard to be a goody little two shoes. Especially since you are lawful good and a cleric to boot. Creative thinking is necessary. |

However I dont think that it is necessarily fair to expect the cleric to be the sole healer in a group of 7th level characters is it? Why dont you pull resources and buy wands and what competent adventuerer at such levels wouldnt have a few potions of healing or someother means of healing avaialbe to them. Are you the only healer Miclops? |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 12:44 PM | There is much to think about isnt there? |
| miclops7706-30-04, 12:54 PM | There sure is, How much do wands of cure light wounds usually cost? I suppose the little things count too. Yes I am the sole healer of the group. We had another cleric, one of pelor but some bad things happened to him. |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 12:58 PM | Miclops of course the little things count too. There is a saying that might be food for thought (even if the food is cookies) If you cant be trusted in the small things, you cant be trusted in the big things." For the Greeks Aristotle, Socrates and Plato someone was not said to have virtue if they only did something virtous once and awhile. For example someone was not brave unless they were always brave and not just when trying to save people occassionaly. That is what virtue is about, living the life and walking the walk and talking the talk, even and most especially when it is hard to do so. Something bad happened to the Cleric of Pelor? What? |
| miclops7706-30-04, 01:13 PM | Originally posted by Amaron Blackthorn Something bad happened to the Cleric of Pelor? What? You ever see what happens when you introduce a marshmallow into a camp fire? |
| Amaron Blackthorn06-30-04, 01:17 PM | Miclops, I dont particullary enjoy marshmallows becasue they are messy especially when you try to microwave them becasue you are too lazy to melt them to make rice krispy treats, or as ammuniton to throw at pigeons. So what happened? |
| miclops7706-30-04, 01:25 PM | Originally posted by Amaron Blackthorn or as ammuniton to throw at pigeons. Pidgeons? Is that what your calling them now? AH, is this one of the 9 or 10 characters played by anonoyumous Matt? :( :( I hope that little Hooba survives. |

| Amaron Blackthorn07-01-04, 10:53 AM | How went your group last night Miclops? |
| miclops7707-01-04, 10:59 AM | I think I can...I think I can:D Wasnt bad, not many died, Unfortunatly we've been put into a moral dilema. The town that we are in has decreed that no person is to carry weapons with their persons or be punished with execution. My character doesnt really see that as a just punishment. Do I follow the law or my heart. I am Lawful Good which means I should obey the laws of the city, on the other hand I feel that a crime such as carrying a weapon in public should not be punishble by death. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-01-04, 11:01 AM | Oh no! What ever will you do? Being lawful can be such a pain. Being good so much more. How is Hooba doing? |
| miclops7707-01-04, 11:09 AM | OK, Not only does he have a crazing for pie and meat, he is also developing a taste for alcohol. When he is drunk he likes to cling to peoples faces and laugh. |

| Amaron Blackthorn07-01-04, 11:59 AM | That little Hooba sounds mean. :( I would be afraid of him. Does he get your group in trouble? |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-01-04, 01:02 PM | Miclops, to continue our discussion from yesterday, have you ever read Plato's Myth of the Cave? |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-01-04, 02:45 PM | THE MORE YOU KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS MICLOPS THE BETTER. For if knowledge is power then a god am I! |
| miclops7707-01-04, 02:51 PM | No I havn't read it, looks like maybe we can get a full page of Raistlins. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-02-04, 10:18 AM | The Myth of the Cave is a great story told by Plato in the Republic. He says that humanity lives in a cave and that it is dark and creepy. A little bit of light shines in through the mouth of the cave. People are chained in various ways, some by their hands, some by one foot, etc. However some people manage to escape and are able to go outside. They return to try to help other people but some are killed. The moral of the story. Most of humanity is content to remain in the darkness, and those who try to make a difference often pay a price, the ultimate price if need be. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-02-04, 11:03 AM | the sad thing is that most people havent read the myth of the cave or even heard about it. It should be required reading in high schools. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-02-04, 11:07 AM | Hooray almost a full page of Raistlins. Miclops, is that you? Walk to the light. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-02-04, 12:28 PM | Miclops are you on today? |
| Lunaris07-02-04, 09:27 PM | I played an Half-Silver Half-Human Dragon fight back in 2nd Edition. He was one twinky son of a *(?$!"/. I remember the way I played him and while, at the time, I had fun, now? Well. Too angsty for my tastes. Now, if I were to remake him to 3.5 rules, and different personality and such, I'm pretty sure I'd like the little guy again. And yes, he was a pure fighter. Back when Sorcerer did not exist. :D |
| Kamelion07-03-04, 02:34 AM | Under 2e a couple who played in my game came up with twin sisters called Alexis & Alethea. Through a convoluted plot involving time travel and union with a draconic soul, they became their own parents and transformed into half gold-dragons. Over time, Alexis rejected her draconic half (her dragonsoul was eventually stolen from her) and Alethea embraced it. Used the Council of Wyrms rules for them both - worked nicely enough. Eventually Alethea wanted to take her progression further, so we developed something similar to the avangion transformation from Dark Sun. For my current 3.5 Dark Sun game I fleshed out some rules for half-drakes (Dark Sun version of half-dragons), using the standard half-dragons as tempaltes. A player in the game is currently playing a halfling/silt drake cross with class levels in cleric (silt). He's basically an acid-based half-dragon. Works nicely, but I totally agree with the point about HD needing to be near LA - he is ECL 5 and only has 20 hp, heh heh. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-03-04, 02:32 PM | All of that sounds interesting. I dont know if I have read it any where but is a half-dragon's favorite class sorcerer? |
| DragonX22X07-03-04, 02:42 PM | There is a Thread by Kkat that has something you need to know about this.:ayyyy!: :P |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-03-04, 03:17 PM | thanks for the info! Miclops, it looks like we arent going to have a page fully complete of Raistlins. :( :( |
| Senko07-03-04, 10:19 PM | I thought the myth of the cave involved how they saw the shadows of passersby or is that something else? |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-06-04, 11:23 AM | something else it is. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-07-04, 12:19 PM | Miclops, have you been on this page for a while? How is your half-dragon character doing? What is he up to? What about little lovable Hooba? |

| Amaron Blackthorn07-09-04, 03:29 PM | Really Zook? That is just sad. :( How do you deal with that situation? |
| Elemental07-09-04, 04:30 PM | Well, I can go one better--a campaign where the premise was that all the PC's were half-dragons. It was a while back, but so far as I can recall we had-- Estivan, human / black dragon. A fighter (going for Eldritch Knight later on), specialised in mounted combat (which he got to use maybe once in the campaign, and even then, he didn't do any damage due to DR). Wanted to get even with dad, loved his horse just a little too much. Arden, elf / blue dragon rogue / wizard. He was on the run from a thieves guild, and didn't want anyone to know his identity or to stand out....so he went by the pseudonym of 'Blue Dragon', and wore a mask all the time. Galan, elf / gold dragon sorcerer / cleric of Akadi, going for Mystic Theurge. Ambiguously evil, and a bit power-crazed, and augmented from many sourceboks. Usha, (my character), human / brass dragon fighter / rogue, who had just become a Holy Liberator when the game ended. Sarcastic, short-tempered, and CG to the core. Ayla, human / silver dragon rogue / monk / shadowdancer (might have been a bit of fighter in there too). Can't say much about her, she joined after I left. Carudan, human / emerald dragon cleric of Torm / monk. Handy with a stunning fist, very angsty. The game started off with the PC's answering an ad from a professor at a mage college, who was doing a treatise on dragons. After a band of skum and a naga were found underneath, we were hired as security staff. We had some misadventures there, but I left halfway through, due to general burnout. The game ended, due to GM tiredness, on a dramatic note. The characters were trying to rescue Arden's mom from a church of Bane, and got into a huge fight with a high-level cleric and a raksasha with added sorcerer levels. They had nothing that could penetrate the DR of the demon, so it was something of a massacre--Galan was killed by a cone of cold fired through a Blade Barrier, Ayla spent most of the fight being squeezed in a Bigby's Grasping Hand, and Estivan blew his save against a Destruction. The survivors were left stranded at the top of a tower, wondering how to face the survivors of the fort. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-11-04, 09:42 PM | How do so many diverese alignments get along? |
| Lunaris07-11-04, 10:07 PM | Sometime, very strong needs can make drasticaly different alingments to work with each others. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-12-04, 11:37 AM | that is true, but some of these dragons are so diametrically oppossed to each other. |
| Amaron Blackthorn07-12-04, 12:08 PM | BABS CABS! |

| Drake_the_Windseeker08-19-04, 04:44 PM | I really enjoy this one character I have, a Human Sorcerer, who eventually takes the Dragon Disciple class to become a Red Half-Dragon. The reason I take the class is because other than the cool abilities of becoming a Half-Dragon with Blindsense, I can role-play the change really well. I like playing a character who's in a state of flux rather than playing someone who is a Half-Dragon when he's born. I think it's more interesting. |
| Amaron Blackthorn08-19-04, 07:24 PM | What level is your character? |
| Drake_the_Windseeker08-20-04, 02:49 PM | I'm constantly joining and playing in various campaigns, usually having to start off at level one all over again |
| Amaron Blackthorn08-21-04, 05:50 PM | So your half-dragon character is everywhere and no where? Isnt that hard to play? |
| Drake_the_Windseeker08-21-04, 11:05 PM | *shrugs* It's not hard to play, it's just that a lot of the campaigns die easily, so I have to join a new one when another dies. |
