| Hammerhead04-23-06, 09:36 PM | I asked about this before but didn't get an answer. Apparently the terlen (FF) in 2nd edition was a lot differnt than the current flying shark version. Can anyone post a picture or descrive what the original terlen was like? |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht04-23-06, 09:48 PM | It was a triphibian (air/water/land) being. It looked like a cross between an eel and a shark. It had wings. And it had lots of flavor, but I misplaced the book it was in. |

| Shemeska the Marauder04-23-06, 10:14 PM | I asked about this before but didn't get an answer. Apparently the terlen (FF) in 2nd edition was a lot differnt than the current flying shark version. Can anyone post a picture or descrive what the original terlen was like? The original version is on p114-115 of the Planescape Monstrous Compendium II. The version therein is much more eel or skate-like than the 3e flying shark, and it's presented as being either a planetouched version of an original prime material animal, or descended from a stock of such animals who were experimented upon and 'improved' by some whimsical Arcanaloth or Shator (much like how Slasreths are the result of magical experimentation by the fiends). Like Raymond said, they were amphibious and while they preferred water (such as the oceans of Porphatys in Carceri) they could indefinately survive outside of water. The 2e version also had significant information on their hunting tactics, adaption to various lower planar environments, and general ecology, etc that isn't present in the 3e writeup. |

| Shemeska the Marauder04-24-06, 02:21 AM | cool can anyone post a pic? I don't have my copy ready, it's in a box in my closet, or else I'd do a quick lo res scan and post it. A google image search didn't help either, since that just gives pictures of the 3e Terlen and porn (and albeit nice, it's not the 2e terlen). |
| Hammerhead04-27-06, 08:31 PM | I wonder if the the terlen is based on the walking catfish? |
