Im DMing a campaign right now and am trying to use as much new material as possible so thought I'd share it with everyone.

This first batch are the result of some very twisted breeding. They occupy the first level of my dungeon. Tiny scorpions which are harmless will be abundant, they will sometimes be seen dragging coins or performing some other organized task. Many Medium Scorpions and Dire Rats (MM) will also be in the area. They and the larger monsters eat the tiny scorpions but prefer fresh blood.

CR2

Aggressive and blood thirsty predators They have the body of a dire rat with bat wings and head. They will attack on sight attaching to less armored creatures and drinking blood for 1d4 rounds before fleeing. They are solitary or found in small groups.

Scorpobat, Large Sized Animal.

Weapon Finesse (bite)

Special: Attach: AC 12
Blood Drain: 2d4 temp CON dmg per round attached
*Poison DC 13 1d6/1d6 DEX

Treasure: Normal but no items.

CR3

They look similar to the batorat but much larger and with a long scorpion tail which hangs downward and thrusts forward (opposed to a scorpions over head attack).

They are more intelligent than thier cousin the batorat. A scorpobat can command the other creatures and use them to collect treasure and fight off intruders. Scorpobats don't get along with each other so there is only ever 1 per hive. Scorpobat rarely leaves the inner hive and always has some guards protecting it.

Back with more next week.
