The Simbul 06-15-04, 06:38 PM	The Monstrous Manual contained a number of creatures who selected Weapon Finesse as their 1st level feat, many of them being creatures with low STR scores, like Sprites and small animals. However they didnt have the BAB prerequisites for that feat (Fey have the BAB of a Sorcerer, and most sprites only have 1 HD). To fix this, the MM errate decided to give all of these creatures Weapon Finesse as a Bonus racial feat, and gave a list of normal feats to replace their 1st level feat (usually ones like Alertness, Stealthy, etc). My question is shouldnt this raise the LA of these creatures at all? Now Sprites have two bonus feats (Dodge and Weapon Finesse) in addition to their normal feat selection, which in terms of character level helps mitigate their fewer feats due to their ECL vs normal characters.
cwslyclgh 06-15-04, 07:49 PM	I do not think that a bonus feat in and of itslf is generaly worth a +1 level adjustment. (On a side note, at least 1 of the creatures on their errata list actually did meet the BAB requirements for weapon finesse--the Psuedodragon which has a BAB of +2, however it seems to have gotten wf turned into a bonus feat as well... why not just give every one wf for free... ):rolleyes:
