| diegosephroth01-13-07, 07:29 PM | Hi there! Im kinda in desperately need of a sheet for PLAGUE, the forth horseman of apocalypse to use in my campaing. I know there should be a lot of request like these... but im really kinda desperate so I'm giving it a try. HELP VERY MUCH APPRECIATED He must be/have: 1- Around Cr 30 2- Vermin/Undead 3- Tentacles 4- Not spellcaster(at least not spellcaster based) 5- Desease/poison aura 6- Some stunning ability of effect 7- Carapace(thought about tarrasque's carapace) 8- Damage return 9- Able to quickly create spawns(strong ones in preference) 10- Possible ability to "become" an incorporeal mass of desease or vermin swarm(thought about that vermin swarm in epic handbook) 12- Strong ability damager 13- Swallow Whole 14- Huge tank, mass hp (whats that feat that let you put Cha bonus on hp dice?) 15- Burrow ability 16- Huge/Gargantuan Ideas for a base monster anyone? |
| vader_rocks01-13-07, 07:38 PM | Actually, DEATH is the fourth horseman, PLAGUE is the third. Out of curiosity, why does this creature need Tentacles, a Carapace, Swallow Whole and the ability to Burrow? |
| Dracomortis01-13-07, 07:40 PM | Actually, Plague is not a horseman at all - there's War, Death, Famine, and Pestilence, the last being the one I assume you mean. Oh, and it's not exatly what you described, but Watchdog_of_Hades did a very good write-up of Pestilence here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10458871&postcount=548). |
| cog_n_taz01-13-07, 07:41 PM | I believe it was called pestilence. (in no particular order) war, famine, pestilence, death. Ofcourse, we all know that the fifth horseman is johnny the milkman:P. woops, beaten to it. Anyways, I'd say a swarmshifter would be a good start. |
| vader_rocks01-13-07, 07:44 PM | Plague, pestilance, same difference. |
| drakkonflye01-13-07, 09:04 PM | Ofcourse, we all know that the fifth horseman is johnny the milkman:P. That's Ronnie, as in Ronnie Soak. Yeah, I read Terry Pratchett, too. ;) |
| cog_n_taz01-13-07, 09:14 PM | woops, got it wrong! Anyways, yes, I happen to read the best books on the planet, and occasionally make references. |
| drakkonflye01-13-07, 10:22 PM | And those are some pretty good books. I like Pratchett's world-view of magic, and how most of the characters are like, "Ok, you're a wizard. So?" Makes sense, though; in a world full of magic as a daily occurrence, would people really be that impressed? But I digress.... Getting back to the thread, Pestilence should have the following abilities: Aura of Sickness (Ex): 30 feet; DC (10+ 1/2 HD + Con modifier) Fortitude save or be nauseated. Whether or not the save is successful, all creatures in the area are sickened for as long as they remain in the area of effect and for 1d6 rounds thereafter. These conditions stack. Summon Swarm (Sp): At will; As spell, except the swarm consists of various flying and/or crawling insects for flavor instead of spiders, rats, or bats. Touch of Disease (Ex): At will, Pestilence may choose to inflict any one of the following diseases as a touch attack: Filth fever: Incubation: 1d3 rounds; Damage: 1d3 Dex, 1d3 Con Red Ache: Incubation: 1d3 rounds; Damage: 1d6 Str Shakes: Incubation: 1 round; Damage: 1d8 Dex Slimy Doom: Incubation: 1 round; Damage: 1d4 Con These diseases are explained in detail in the SRD and on page 292 of the 3.5 DMG. The save DCs are all the same: DC (10+ 1/2 HD + Con mod). Normally, the incubation is measured in days, not rounds, but IMO Pestilence is about the equal of a demigod, so the rate of infection should be stepped up a bit. These are just a couple suggestions. The only other thing I might suggest is making the diseases supernatural in origin instead of extraordinary, but that might mean making them only able to be healed by magic. If you decide Pestilence should have no Con score, then use a Charisma modifier instead. Then again, that might require making these diseases supernatural in this case. |
| obrysii01-13-07, 11:04 PM | I believe it was called pestilence. (in no particular order) war, famine, pestilence, death. Actually, it was Conquest, War, Famine/Plague, and Death. |
| vader_rocks01-13-07, 11:10 PM | Hey, just out of curiosity, why are you only asking for the stats for Pestilence instead of all four of them? |
| Tiarn01-14-07, 01:10 AM | ... He must be/have: 1- Around Cr 30 2- Vermin/Undead 3- Tentacles 4- Not spellcaster(at least not spellcaster based) 5- Desease/poison aura 6- Some stunning ability of effect 7- Carapace(thought about tarrasque's carapace) 8- Damage return 9- Able to quickly create spawns(strong ones in preference) 10- Possible ability to "become" an incorporeal mass of desease or vermin swarm(thought about that vermin swarm in epic handbook) 12- Strong ability damager 13- Swallow Whole 14- Huge tank, mass hp (whats that feat that let you put Cha bonus on hp dice?) 15- Burrow ability 16- Huge/Gargantuan... I would think these things would make him very.... unhorseman-like. :uh-huh: |
| diegosephroth01-14-07, 10:15 PM | Hey, just out of curiosity, why are you only asking for the stats for Pestilence instead of all four of them? Because the main villain in the campaing im mastering is a 45th level summoner. Players are like ECL 28/30. It is like the climax of the campaing and Im preparing this battle to be like an ending to this part of history. Answering your question, Hunger is already an old good NPC(turned into nightmarish summon) that I'd prefer not to throw into a battle with my PC's...yet. War is the strongest among them and I really believe they could not defeat him at all, within the context of the history. Death will be casting a spell while the battle occurs, so he's out of question in battling. I would think these things would make him very.... unhorseman-like. Ya.. I know. Actually it is more a title than a description you know. many thanks to drakkonflye and Dracomortis. You're being of much help indeed. I'll prepare the basis of the sheet and will post it soon. If anyone has more ideas, please, contribute. |
