The open game D&D stuff says (under "Full Attack"): "A creature’s primary attack damage includes its full Strength modifier (1-1/2 times its Strength bonus if the attack is with the creature’s sole natural weapon) and is given first. Secondary attacks add only 1/2 the creature’s Strength bonus and are given second in the parentheses." emphasis mine

Does the "sole" above only apply if the creature only has 1 natural attack (like a wolf)? Or can a gargoyle (for example) get this bonus if he uses only one claw attack as a full-attack action?

Thanks!

It applies to creatures with only one natural attack, such as the wolf.

Thanks. But just to be clear ... it ONLY applies if they use the Full Attack option, right? Thanks again in advance!

No, a creature with a single natural attack gets Str-and-a-half no matter what.

Also note that specific creatures have specific rules, as said in their descriptions, on strength to damage. Such as dragonas, as an example.
