A long long time ago I wrote a short story, in which I describe a monster, now I was recently looking for that story, thinking about the creature in it, and decided to stat it out.. but.. first I want to see how many diffrent and diverse stats I coudl get from such a large pool of talent, so here is the description:

"You know that there are trees all around you, but for the fog you see nothing but the ground at your feet, and the tip of your blade. You can sense that you are not alone, as you can hear the rustle of leaves, and the snap of twigs. Then you hear more, a slow deep breathing. Then a flash a movment just beyound sight, the flash of eyes deep purple and slit like a cats... or dragons. Fear begins to rise as you know your being circled, another flash of sight, a tail, thick and scaled like that of an crocodile, flexing slowly back and forth. A roar off to the side, spinning, movment, the flash of fur, red with the black stripes of a tiger, a glimps of a torso, a human arm ending in three large taloned tiped fingers. Silence once more, movment, breathing, roar, flash of fang and maw, wet slick saliva, the long scaled msucled neck, the armored torso.. silence..."

What do other people see? What are its stats?

I see a dinosaur.

On an aside, I think you meant a tridactyl hand, not a triped. Triped is three feet.

I'm seeing a man sized bipedal saurian but with a mix of feline features. It has a high speed (40+) and high agility as well as a Climb speed and a racial bonus to Balance. The scales and heavy fur give us Natural Armor.

The large three talon tipped fingers also suggest a non-tool using animalistic predator who relies on cunning and spell-like abilities. Those that come to mind are some sort of automatic Fear Aura in a radius around the creature and perhaps several uses of Obscuring Mist or Fog Cloud each day.
Darkvision is a must and Scent would be useful for closing in on frightened, disoriented prey trapped in the fog.

Such creatures could be solitary hunters or hunt in packs thus forcing multiple saves vs Fear and allowing them to gang up on prey isolated from its herd (or party  ) by the fog.

kc, I had a mental imag eof a tauric creature as well, but with some features not covered by that template, and Yacht, I meant three finger "tipped", but your right, I ment three fingers. If the fingers where poisitioned right, could it use weapons?

Chaotic God, thanks, exactly what I was hoping for. Systems descriptions from jsut a paragraph of text, loved it. Didn't even think to make the fog effect a natural ability, just pictured it staying in deep forests areas.

Now.. anyone care to try a state block?
