peteyrock 07-03-07, 04:24 PM	Back in 1995, 2nd Edition Revised AD&D was king. There was one monster that caught my eye. Namely, I saw it in the software that accompanied the Dungeon Master's Guide. If I recall correctly, it was called a Gargantuan. Now that this is a size class, one may be able to see why I'm having difficulty tracking this big ol' thing down. If anyone has any access or better luck finding this rare gem, I will give you a virtual high five.

DebiHuman 07-03-07, 11:12 PM	I suspect this is the guargantua as well. They were monsters from AD&D (and you can find some information on the web using google for them under that addition). I don't believe that they were ever updated to 3e. They were based on a Japanese giant monster movie, War of the Gargantuas. The goof premise is that these huge critters spawned from the discarded cells of Frankenstein's monster and are brothers. The green one was "evil" (it eats the crew of a ship in the early part of the film) while the brown one was raised in captivity and was "good". As near as I can tell they've been renamed as "Kaiju". peteyrock 07-05-07, 09:40 AM	Thanks for the help! I believe you're right about it being Gargantua. Do you mean the Japanese monsters were renamed to Kaiju? Because, if the Gargantua was renamed as Kaiju, then the joke continues.
DebiHuman 07-05-07, 04:47 PM	Apparently there WAS an article about Kaiju in Dragon Magazine (probably for 3.0). Issue 289 and the article was "Thunder and Fire" which had the rules for creating Kaiju style monsters. The funny thing is I could't find it in listed on Paizo's dragon page for that particular issue. Must be an oversite (or I could have the wrong issue as I'm basing it on what I could find on google).
