A sea urchin looks like a ball of malicious spines, just as easily taken for a plant or odd rock formation. Sea urchins come in red, green, and dark purple.

Sea urchins are the product of some particularly vehement god of nature or the ocean. The wisest of druids admit that the creature seems to serve no ecological purpose other than to ruin your beach vacation by deliberately NOT moving away when you are wading barefoot.

Combat: sea urchins rarely need to do more than wait to be stepped on, and then wave their spines in a manner to indicate that if they had a face it would be plastered thick with a smug grin.

Poison(ex): save dc:11, intial damage intense pain for 1d4 hours, secondary damage 2con. The pain incurs a -4 morale penalty to dexterity and a -3 penalty to all attack rolls, AC, and skill checks. Even if the save is successful, the spine inflicts an acute pain (-2 morale penalty to dex and -1 to skill checks) until secondary damage sets in.

Blindsight(ex): sea urchins are naturally blind and use methods unknown to discern their surroundings.

Spines(ex): any creature grappling, touching ungloved, or stepping upon a sea urchin (the last is done if the unsuspecting biped moves into or across the same square without making a successful spot check opposing its hide) takes automatic damage from its spine attack and suffers a -3 circumstantial penalty to their forititude save against the poison.
