Phrennzy 09-21-05, 03:12 PM	I played a black skinned bronze dragon named Kirinagulanathos. Kir-in-ag-u-lan-a-thos. Lots of fun. He was only 2 feet long. Including tail. And I had a ancient black dragon named Gulgenathrax the Fetid. Gulg-en-a-thrax. He was a pretty bad ass mo-fo. Grab a handful of sounds and slap them together. Sometimes they work: Vernithrax and sometimes not Slutbungwalla Keep playing until they do.

Of course a few are gods used in some D&D mythos, but I dont use many of the gods so, it still works out. :) Examples: Nebuchadnezzar Ezikiel Moroni Fenrir Beelzebub Shiva Atlas

I do not remeber the exact source (but I would not be suprised if it were Dragonlance or a non D&D realted source), however I did once read a something saying that many dragons tend to add to their name as they get older, either after major growth spurts or eventful deeds. Delgasehiah (DEL - GAH - SAY - YAH) was a gold dragon I onced used as a recurring helpful NPC in a series of adventured I ahd my players on.

You can steal the name of a nigh draconic Sorceror(Draconic Sorceror/Dragon Disciple/Dragon Mystic/Half-Dragon Paragon, high epic level character) of mine named Dol Amroth, but only if its for the Red. For the silver... this is off the top of my head, has no meaning to my understanding, but how about Kenshrarelluk? Hmm... now I think I'm gonna use that name for a silver... Its always been my experience with things draconic that their language consists heavily of what I consider harsh consonants, such as 'k' and 't' and occasionaly 'r.' Why I consider them harsh, no idea, but its the best name for them I could think. Have you considered making them(off topic of names) Archdragons, or Dragon Ascendants?

Rinian2 09-22-05, 12:22 PM	I try to name dragons after their elemental ties. So a red dragon would have a fiery name, and a silver one would have a frigid one. How about Infernux for the red, and Cryogenesis for the silver? You could name them for their colours; Blood for the red, and Argent for the silver. Or mix the two together; Infernux Blood and Argent Cryogenesis.

ChaosSaber 09-25-05, 06:10 PM	Typically good dragon names are the names of legendary creatures, FF summons, obscure ancient philosophers, kings, or mountebanks, or else something unintelligible that usually sounds like you're speaking Klingon. For example, my PCs came across an old blue dragon named Kezzadraz.
Nidae 09-25-05, 06:47 PM	Sparks was also the name of the golden dragonfly that aided Spyro. Names are one of the more difficult things to come up with. I figure whatever sounds good should be used. Pyristophteles (Pē-riss-tahf-teh-lēs) sounds fiery and evil for the red. Lunrion Aurtixbrum (Loon-rē-on Oar-ticks-bruhm) sounds formal, but up beat. Just toy with them until you are satified.
