The SRD states that Golems are immune to most magical and supernatural effects, except as otherwise noted.

I placed a stone golem in an encounter. The SRD states:

A stone golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the creature, as noted below.

Does this mean a spell like acid splash, which does not allow spell resistance could affect the stone golem? I went ahead and ruled that it could affect it.

Now I know that golems are not affected by mind affecting spells, since they have no mind (Int 0), so illusions typically will have no affect on them. However, the wizard in the party cast major image (a figment), to create the illusion of a wall between the golem and the party.

Figments operate slightly different than other illusion type spells in that they don't affect the mind, but affect senses such as sight, sound, smell, etc. So when he cast his major image spell of a wall between himself and the party, there was some disagreement whether or not the golem would be affected. Since the golem has sight, I did agree that it, along with all the other party members, did see this wall appear before them.

Now major image also has in its description that the image disappears when struck unless the illusion is reacts accordingly.

So I ruled that the wall disappeared as soon as the golem struck it, no saving throw required.

The player felt that a saving throw was required since it would appear to the golem as a real wall.

I guess my next question is, is a golem immune to all illusions, inlcuding figments?

It is only immune to spells that allow SR. So Acid Splash does affect the golem.

Also, there is no reason that Major Image would not affect the golem. There is a reason that they still have will saves in their stats. If it isn't mind-affecting, it will work,

Now major image also has in its description that the image disappears when struck unless the illusion is reacts accordingly.

It would be possible to have the wall react correctly by making it seem to break when hit, in which case the golem would get a Will save to see if it believed the illusion. This would just mean that the golem could spend a few extra rounds breaking down the fake wall enough to get through.
