Heres an utterly obnoxious creature that I'm going to use to mess with my players in a short-term spooky game I'm running till October night. Basically they are stuck in a tavern which is running across the planes and there is only one way out. To attempt to flee through windows or doors means almost certain death, or at least bringing forth situations that will try their sanity.

These yarndolls can appear in many ways, often made to resemble an aquaintance of the maker, or the maker himself. They are strange, eerie creatures who may simply lie slumped over a bed, or walk about climbing furniture, knocking over things, or wrapping themselves around others without warning. Though completely mindless their ways are unpredictable and often destructive if they move at all.

Combat:
A cursed yarndoll is normally pacifistic, and can be thrown across the room, sat on, or outright attacked and may make no move to save itself. There is only a 20% chance a yarn doll will respond to an attack. Even then there is a 50% chance it flees instead of doing battle unless otherwise directed by its creator. This roll must be made every hour as well to see if the yarndoll attacks or flees without provocation. If it attacks, it will leap upon its opponent and use its smothering embrace.

Fire Vulnerability:
A yarn doll has vulnerability to fire, which means it takes half again as much (+50%) damage as normal from fire, regardless of whether a saving throw is allowed, or if the save is a success or failure.

Reknit (Su):
Unless destroyed by fire, disentegration affect, or its pieces scattered far and wide, a yarn doll has a 50% chance of reknitting itself together the round after its 'death'.

Smothering Embrace (Ex):
If a cursed yarn doll makes a successful grapple check it can wrap tightly about its victim's face (if it has one), blocking off air passages (See suffocation, p. 304 of the DMG).

Skills:
* Yarn dolls gain a +6 bonus on escape artist checks, and a +10 bonus on jump checks.

Even though mindless, the kind of random action would imply a charisma score of 2, and a wisdom of at least 4.

Reknit seems rather harsh, whatever the CR. I'd make it take 1d6 minutes, give the party time to heal and breath up, and make slashing damage also exempt.
