A mad idea? - Alhoon group [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-13-07, 06:24 AM I am thinking if this would be a possible idea, or just a tad ridicolous.

The idea is a group of rebel Illithids who have delved into necromancing.

The group is led by a Demi Brainstealer Dracolich.

With 2 Demi Mindwitness liches.

With a group of Alhoons.

Would these monsters be feasable making?

03-13-07, 06:37 AM In an epic planar campaign. Why not?

With 8 HD, +7 LA and at least Level 11 to become Lichs, level 26 would be minimum starting level.

03-13-07, 05:52 PM That actually sounds pretty interesting. IT would be especially interesting if you had them eventually kill an elder brain and animate as a sentient undead under their control. How nice would that be, an elder brain stripped of its power.
By the way, is that why illithids are against arcane arts? Because they don't want to have alhoons, which are immune to the elder brains mental intrusions?

03-14-07, 06:36 PM I think thats the main reason. Alhoons can also ultimatey surpass the elder brain, and also alhoons are for themselves and dont want to merge with some big brain in a jar.

03-14-07, 07:11 PM It's not an unreasonable idea; it's the scale of it that staggers me. The idea of trying to manage a group of (presumably) evil, epic aberrations is a challenge I wouldn't wish on any DM I've yet encountered.
But maybe that's because I'm often forced to DM.:mad:

03-14-07, 09:41 PM You also might want ot consider a monster from Complete Psionic (can't remember the name), hich is basically a psionic version of the Lich. If I remember correctly they are incorporeal, and feed on mental energy to replenish their power points.
