Anybody know of any monsters that have the ability to rage or frenzy? Any help would be appreciated.

The wolverine is in the Animals chapter, on page 283.

As for other monsters with rage in the Monster Manual, you can check the Badger and Dire Badger. The Sahuagin's Blood Frenzy ability also works somewhat like a barbarian's rage. And of course, there are many more monsters with rage abilities in other monster books.

Baphitaur-> crossbreed between tieflings and minotaurs... they're not a happy race.

Orc paragons-> I forget what level of paragon they need but they get rage 1/day as a 1st level barb IIRC.

Possibly in a book called Bastards & Bloodlines, a Green Ronin book about hybrids. I dont own it however so I cant be sure. Wyrd Bearer didn't specify anything about their source.

Down the path of third-party publishers thou shall not walk, for it leads astray. :teach:

Baphitaur can be found in the Underdark sourcebook.
Unfortunately I don't have the book w/ me at the moment.

cheers,
Gino

A lot of lower level creatures can have rage by giving them a level in Barbarian.

This actually works well for mid-range monsters - adding two levels of Barbarian to an Ettin made it pretty deadly. Remember that if you add adventurer class levels the monster gets better ability scores as part of the CR increase.

cheers,
GinoPg 82 of the Underdark book. Personally, I like to use them as stock monsters usually led by a champion (baphitaur with 2 more levels of barbarian than the rest). Makes a good first fight for PCs who find themselves in the Underdark.

Thats why I went with low level creatures. So even with the boosts, the CR wouldn't start getting too insane.

You might be misunderstanding me - by pretty deadly, what I meant was pleasantly satisfying.

Yeah, but I was looking for monsters that have it naturally to fit in with my plans.... evil plans.... muhahahahahaha....ha...

The Bearded Devil (Barbazu) gains a battle frenzy. They are 6HD devils with a CR of 5.
