Morglay 06-26-03, 06:10 AM	Wes has done an incredable job with his monsters of the week, so i figured the least i could do would be to post a few of the deranged monsters i have come up with. (And hopefully get as good a response) Morglay My first contribution, The spider-fly, cause there aint enough B movie monsters :) Spider-Fly Medium Sized Abberation Hit Dice: 3d8+6 Initiative: +3 (Dex) Speed: 40ft, Climb 20ft, Fly 80 (good) AC: 15 (+3 Dex, +2 Natural) Attacks: Bite +5 Melee Damage: 1d4 +1+ Acidic Spittle Face/Reach: 5x5/5 Special Attacks: Acidic Spittle, Web. Special Quality's: Vermin, Darkvision 60ft. Saves: Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +3 Abilities: STR: 13 DEX: 17 CON: 14 INT: - WIS: 10 CHR: 2 Skills: Climb +12, Hide +10, Jump +6, Spot +15. Feats: Weapon Finesse (Bite) Climate/Terrain: Temperate and warm land and underground Orginization: Solitary Chalange Rating: 2 Treasure: None Alignment: Always neutral Advancement: 4 - 6 HD Medium, 7 - 12 HD Large. The Spider-fly is the creation of a mad mage, trying to become as famous as the creator of the Owlbear, unfortuantly the spider-fly proved to be as uncontrolable as the owlbear and promptly devored its creator. Unfortuantly this creature is unisex and reproduces its own young by laying several hundred eggs in carrion or offal, and is spreading like a plague. The spider-fly looks like a very bad B movie monster, with the forpart of a giant fly including the wings, and the backpart of a spider and the spiders 8 legs. This abomination subsists off carrion offal and any creature smaller then it, that it can catch. Web (EX): Can cast a web eight times per day. This is similar to an attack with a net but has a maximum range of 50 feet, with a range increment of 10 feet, and is effective against targets up to one size smaller than the spider-fly. The web anchors the target in place, allowing no movement. An entangled creature can escape with a successful Escape Artist check or burst it with a Strength check. Both are standard actions whose DCs are listed in the Monster Manual under vermin. A spider-fly can move across its own sheet web at its climb speed and can determine the exact location of any creature touching the web. Acidic Spittle(Ex): The Spider-fly digests food as a fly does, it disolves it with an acidic spittle. When ever a creature is hit with its bite some of the spittle is also left behind, inflicting 1d4 points of acid damage.
R.M.G.C.L.F. 06-26-03, 02:27 PM	Seems alright, although carrion is already dead matter, so a carrion eater would not kill things for food normally. :teach: For the part that says "it looks like a B movie" I think you should clarify that by saying, for example, it has a rubbery flesh or uncoordinated looking puppet-like movements, or it has jerky, somehow "faked" looking movement (stop animation). The stats are flawless, except that you forgot to list the total HP. What movie did you get this from?
