Sanisan rocs are dangerous foes that proliferate during periods of high tide. Most Sansian river locals simply refer to Sanisan rocs as just "rocs," a practice that has led to confusion and more than one fatality amongst adventurers (who generally associate the term "roc" with a gigantic bird).
Sansian rocs resemble enormous crocodiles, though their heads are like those of an ant with numerous long mandibles. Their hides are dark gray and sometimes run with shots of silver, indicating age and martial prowess. They are often reguarded as evil for their love of the hunt and especially of eating, but they are no more evil than a hungry lion. Rather than seen as an elegant killing machine, though, Sansian rocs are thought of as no more than an unusually intelligent bastard, primarily for their primary methoods of intimidation--a common trick is to kill several weak foes, rip them into pieces, and later toss their victims' fragments into a populated area (via their powerful jaws and accute aim).
More than one Sansian Roc has developed a grudge against local elven settlements, and especially enjoy devouring females, finding their meat sweet and tender.
Sansian rocs speak Common, Aquan and their own language. Those with above-average intelligence can speak Dwarven (with some difficulty) or Orcish (with fluency surpassing an actual orc's).
COMBAT
Sansian rocs will discuss strategy before attacking, and will carry out a plan faithfuly. If the plan fails to work out as expected, they will abandon pretense of intellect and furiously shread their enemies.
Scream (Su): Before closing into melee, Sansian rocs will often begin with a deafening scream. The scream affects a cone 50 ft. long and 50 ft. at the end. Those who fail a Fortitude save (DC 19) are shaken for the rest of combat and 2d6 minutes afterward. Those that succeed are shaken 1d3 rounds. A character that successfully saves against a Sansian roc's scream are unaffected by that particular Sansian roc's scream for a day afterward. Sansian rocs are immune to their own screams. (This save is based on Constitution.)
Lunge (Ex): Sansian rocs are adept at leaping from the water. They may leap out of the water as though in a charge and attack any creature or object within threatened range of where they surface without attracting an attack of oppertunity. If this is targeted against a boat, the boat must make an opposed Strength check against the Sansian roc attempting to capsize it. Additional Sansian rocs may join the primary roc, each adding a +2 circumstance bonus to the check. (These bonuses are cumulative.) The boat's effective Strength check is equal to 1+the ship's size bonus to grapple (+0 if the ship is Medium, +4 if Large, and so on). If the boat fails the check, it capsizes. If the Sansian roc(s) fail, it/they take 1d6 damage modified by the ship's size in bludgeoning damage (1d4 if the ship is Small, 1d6 if the ship is Medium, 1d8 if the ship is Large, 2d6 if Huge, etc.).
Thrash (Ex): A Sansian roc that hits with its bite in combat may immidiately begin grappling without attracting an attack of oppertunity. If they succeed at this check, the target is tossed about in the roc's maw, taking 1d8 extra points of damage until the foe succeeds at a grapple or Escape Artist check.
Toss Object (Ex): Sansian rocs are great at throwing objects via their powerful maws. Exceedingly accurate, an object thrown via their maw has a range increment of 50 ft. no matter what its original increment was. A few example items:
Rock: This is the largest stone a Sansian roc can throw. It deals 1d6+6 damage if it hits. Used to harass those that are out of reach, though some Sansian rocs use rocks to break through barriers.
Any Grenadelike Weapon: Flasks of acid are popular, and alchemist's fire not so ue to the presence of water. Magical use-activated grenades are especially deadly when used by a Sansian roc.
Pieces of a Victim: Large and recognizable portions of a victim, such as its head or a mass of intestine. Though they usually deal no damage, a solid part of a victim (such as an arm or head) deals 1d4 points of subdual bludgeoning damage on a critical hit. After a pelting of such gruesome missiles is effectively an Intimidate check with a +4 circumstance bonus.
Verminous Blood (Ex): Due to their insectile prehistory, Sansian rocs are immune to mind-affecting spells and effects.
Skills:*Sansian rocs have a +8 racial bonus to Swim checks due to their Swim speed. They may also take 10 on Swim checks even if the circumstances would normally prohibit so.
**A Sansian roc's coloration grants it a +8 circumstance bonus to Hide checks in muddy water.
SANSIAN OVERLORDS
One in every twenty Sansian rocs are Sansian overlords. They are the same as Sansian rocs, save for the following changes to stats:
Saves: Fort +11, Ref +9, Will +5
Abilities: Str 23, Dex 14, Con 19, Int 19, Wis 14, Cha 16
Skills: Swim +27*, Survival +15, Intimidate +16, Knowledge (local) +17, Hide +23**, Diplomacy +16
Sansian overlords, in addition to their normal languages, can speak Infernal, Elven, Sylvan, and Druid.

Nice flavor and well thought out, except for one thing. Crocodiles are already considered large, or they should be. Saltwater crocodiles (the largest species) can reach a length of 20 feet. Maybe make this crocodile huge or gargatuan.

Ciao.
